Biovia Capture

STANDARDIZED RECIPE AND METHOD EXECUTION

Ensuring data integrity and quality is an ongoing concern across industries and scientists are in the spotlight more than ever to provide reliable data without compromising on the efficiency in their work. Traditionally, scientists would have to print a method or recipe in their office, go to the lab to execute it, and then return to their office to manually transcribe their results into a stationary laboratory execution system (LES), electronic batch record (EBR), or electronic lab notebook (ELN). This is not only inefficient but also makes adherence to standardized methods and recipes difficult, compromising data quality and integrity for the organization. Even providing scientists with tablets loaded with laboratory informatics software has not helped much, as these applications are not designed for use with a touchscreen. Poor execution has proven to be costly, error-prone and time-consuming, creating a significant bottleneck and compliance risk for laboratory operations. Delays in the delivery of reliable test results are holding up batch release and increase costly inventory.

A SIMPLE MOBILE CLIENT FOR STANDARDIZED PROCEDURE EXECUTION BIOVIA

Capture is an intuitive, easy-to-use mobile-friendly application for the efficient, standardized and paperless execution of recipes and methods. It has been specifically designed for use on devices such as tablets. BIOVIA Capture allows scientists to quickly and easily reference their procedure and enter data within a common, user-friendly interface while at the bench.

BIOVIA Capture directly accesses recipes and methods authored in BIOVIA Compose using industry-standard libraries of laboratory operations to ensure standardized and compliant execution. This ensures the most complete, accurate and timely entry of data while following the most current approved procedure. Users can see parameters and tolerances within BIOVIA Capture, facilitating an easier and more reliable execution of individual steps and improving data quality. The order of steps is also enforced, ensuring no steps are missed and all necessary data is recorded. Additionally, BIOVIA Capture flags potential deviations in experimental protocols, allowing users to review data by exception. This has resulted in 80% faster data reviews.

ON CLOUD OR ON PREMISES
BIOVIA Capture can be deployed on the cloud, using the infrastructure of BIOVIA ScienceCloud, in either a public cloud or validation-ready private cloud environment. Cloud deployment minimizes IT overhead and ensures security procedures are carried out by dedicated professional security experts. BIOVIA Capture can also be deployed and validated on-premises if desired. The web-based delivery of BIOVIA Capture simplifies implementation, eliminating the need to install software on every user's computer, while the system’s ability to operate on low bandwidth connections ensures ease of operation anywhere in the world.

PART OF THE UNIFIED LAB
BIOVIA Capture is an integral part of the BIOVIA Unified Lab suite of applications. Procedures are authored using BIOVIA Compose, and then assigned as activities for scientists using BIOVIA Task Plan, which they execute using BIOVIA Capture. Samples are managed through BIOVIA Samples, while available materials and related information is tracked using BIOVIA CISPro, and experimental designs and results or additional information can be stored in the BIOVIA Workbook or BIOVIA Notebook ELNs. Advanced data analytics can be performed with BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot, and data results visualized using BIOVIA Insight. This powerful combination lets organizations integrate BIOVIA Capture with their lab instruments and other data sources while also providing rich capabilities for scientific analytics, visualization and automated report generation.
