Dassault Systèmes shares with its customers a strong interest in the quality of the engineering analysis process and understands that the value of numerical modeling as a design tool hinges on the reliability of simulation. This commitment to quality is evidenced by our well-established Quality Management System (QMS) that is certified to ISO 9001:2015 – the latest version of the standard focusing on operational excellence and performance. The Dassault Systèmes QMS is based on common business processes and infrastructure that are centrally administered across brands based on a global operational governance model.  All QMS processes, including those of the central administrative function, are subject to formal internal quality auditing and to resulting corrective actions and continual improvements.

SIMULIA Quality Compliance is responsible for monitoring compliance to, and the effectiveness of, the global Quality Management System for its simulation solutions and support services.

Software Development Lifecycle

In determining the contents of a release, Dassault Systèmes R&D teams follow established processes to select and define product enhancements to be included. These processes are based on a proprietary software engineering model and are managed through a standard release master schedule. Full traceability is maintained across the software development lifecycle through use of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.

Product enhancements are selected for inclusion into a release through our DEFINE processes. These processes include a formal requirements management process that establishes the business processes, use cases, and requirements for a given software release.

Once the requirements for a software release are determined, they are managed through our IMPLEMENT processes. These processes define the functional specifications and validation test plans for a software release and then the physical implementation and unit testing of the code, its integration, verification, validation, and qualification. Validation activities are managed by quality assessment testing teams that are independent of development teams.

Traceability and operational compliance of software development and testing activities is tracked using our 3DEXPERIENCE Platform and is overseen by dedicated operational teams that monitor release quality objectives related to content, schedule, and correctness in comparison to established baseline results.

Nuclear Industry Focus

Dassault Systèmes is deeply committed to creating quality solutions that allow our customers to meet the critical business requirements of the industries in which they operate.

To that end, the Dassault Systèmes Quality Management System is designed to facilitate nuclear industry customer compliance to applicable parts of ASME NQA-1-2015 Part 1, titled “Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications,” subsequent applicable addenda of NQA-1-2015, Subpart 2.7, titled “Quality Assurance Requirements for Computer Software”, and Title 10, Chapter 1, Code of Federal Regulation (CFR), Appendix B to Part 50, titled, “Quality Assurance Criteria for Nuclear Power Plants and Fuel Reprocessing Plants”. In addition, our Quality Management System is designed to facilitate customer compliance with 10 CFR Part 21, titled, “Reporting of Defects and Noncompliances” for commercial grade items.
