Tosca Structure.nonlinear: Optimization for Structures with Nonlinearity

Provides understanding to perform structural optimization (topology and shape optimization) based on nonlinear simulation results

Course Objective

Realistic simulation often requires modeling nonlinear materials, interactions between structures (contact) and/or large deformations. In order to achieve the full improvement potential, optimization of a structure that behaves nonlinearly must be based on the results of a nonlinear simulation. Time-consuming and error-prone generation of surrogate models and unnecessarily large security factors can be avoided by considering nonlinearities in structural optimization.

In this course you will learn how to perform structural optimization (topology and shape optimization) based on nonlinear simulation results.

The topics covered include:

  • Accounting for contact in the optimization task
  • Accounting for nonlinear materials in the optimization task
  • Accounting for nonlinear geometry in the optimization task

Who should attend

The course is ideal for Tosca Structure users interested in acquiring more insight into specific aspects of Tosca Structure and gaining new impetus. Tosca Structure beginners who want to deepen their knowledge after taking "Introduction to Tosca Structure" can also benefit from this course.
