Objective

Abaqus/Explicit is a finite element analysis product that is particularly well-suited to simulate brief transient dynamic events such as consumer electronics drop testing, automotive crashworthiness and ballistic impact. The ability of Abaqus/Explicit to effectively handle severely nonlinear behavior such as contact makes it very attractive for the simulation of many quasi-static events as well, such as rolling of hot metal and slow crushing of energy absorbing devices. The objective of this course is to familiarize Abaqus users to the wide ranging capabilities of this product.

Topics that will be covered include:

  • The explicit dynamic method
  • General contact
  • Automatic mass scaling for quasi-static and impact problems
  • Using Abaqus/Explicit and Abaqus/Standard together to solve difficult problems
Who Should Attend

This course is ideal for new Abaqus/Explicit users and Abaqus/Standard users who want to learn Abaqus/Explicit.
