Sourcing & Standardization Portfolio

Discover OnePart roles and key features

OnePart indexes part information from multiple sources, projects and sites thanks to a large set of connectors. All data are then reconciled and analyzed in the index thanks to advanced semantic technology.

With just a few clicks, users can explore legacy parts and related 2D/3D designs, gaining immediate insight into vast amounts of data. They can further refine their search using side-by-side comparisons to identify the right part for reuse. The user can also analyze important related documentation like specifications, testing, validation, and certification material in multiple formats.

Quality, Method and Standardization users can, from the entire legacy of company assets, classify parts. Based on shape similarity and/or semantic criteria, each part is associated with the closest one to form a cluster that will eventually be classified into a family and sub-family.

Which roles for you?

Optimize Sourcing with Part Procurement Analyst role:

> Relying on OnePart Reduce application and the PartSupply online service

> Enables Sourcing professionals to optimize their orders by:

  • grouping parts based on material, thickness, supplier names, etc., therefore improving volume ordering
  • checking from online catalog of millions of parts whether a similar part already exists on the market instead of making a new part in-house

Automate Standardization process with Standard Part Analyst role:

> Relying on OnePart Reduce application

> Enables Standardization professionals to identify similar parts among the company assets (based on 3D Shape or other criteria), and  group those parts together into families

> Electing a preferred part out of this group

> Once this information has been published to OnePart Reuse, Engineer or Designer will be able to navigate to these families where the preferred part is highlighted at the first place to reuse

Enforce Reuse with Preferred Part Consumer role:

> Relying on OnePart Reuse application and PartSupply online service

> Embedded in designer tools of choice for an efficient reuse experience

> Enables the designer and engineer to:

  • Easily access parts similar to the one he needs to create
  • Among similar parts, easily highlight the preferred parts selected by the Standard Part Analyst
  • Validate the reuse of the part based on context of the similar parts including the 360° view (aggregating ERP/CRM and PLM data) and accessing any relevant related documents

What features do they have?

OnePart Reduce

  • Deduplication: based on 3D Shape similarity, group together the parts  similar to each other
  • Categorization: add semantic criteria to 3D Shape similarity, groups together parts by user intent
  • Assembly optimization: compare each part of an assembly to equivalent one stored in legacy assets and propose optimization based on defined criteria: weight, price, etc.
  • Named family and sub-families to create or update classifications of those parts
  • Select one or several Masters of these families
  • Publish family, sub-family and Master selection to OnePart Reuse for facilitating reuse at design office

OnePart Reuse

  • Legacy search for parts, assemblies, drawings and other related information throughout the enterprise
  • Federated search from a single full-text search bar (auto-completion, wild card, spell check, multi-suggest)
  • 3D Shape similarity search
  • Side-by-side attribute comparisons
  • Assembly’s parent and children relationships
  • 3D mechanical feature mining (locating parts based on holes, pads, grooves, and others)
  • User tagging for collaboration
  • Facet filtering to refine on search results: multiple-choice, disjunctive
  • Shape search by upload of a CAD file
  • 3D Viewer: Users can play with the image directly in the preview page or in full screen mode
  • Dedicated interface to quickly add sources and schedule scans
  • Open In Source button: users can directly open any file regardless of the source
  • Access to tens of millions of manufactured parts available in online catalogs
  • Access to more than 800 suppliers worldwide
  • Search by part name, characteristics or by similarity uploading a 3D part
  • Look at the detailed ID card of the part with its characteristics and 3D Preview of the part
  • Access all possible configurations of the part to select the one fitting your need
  • Compare side-by-side the different part characteristics to select the relevant one
  • Download in your design session the selected part to quickly integrate it into your project
  • Contact the supplier directly thanks to the information provided for each part

OnePart Data Migration Capabilities

OnePart can act as a bridge between legacy CAD systems when converting and opening them in a new environment, no matter the systems. This function can be especially useful following a merger or acquisition. The benefits of using OnePart include:

  • No massive migration
  • Maintenance of data quality
  • Information can remain in the legacy system and be accessed as needed
  • Migration on demand controlled by users
  • No IP outsource for making the migration
