Who we’re looking for: The Technical Writer level I will be responsible for user documentation that accompanies the assigned software product. They will work under supervision to:

  • Train in and apply Technical Communication fundamentals

  • Become part of an Agile product team for assigned product and create documentation based on Medidata’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process 

  • Perform product research and learn domain terminology for assigned product

  • Create documentation using Medidata brand standards and processes

  • Translate complex technical content into clear and concise articles

  • Train on and use content authoring, delivery and measurement tools - Confluence, Jira, Google Analytics

  • Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) about the assigned product

  • Participate in UX meetings regarding user messaging and screen design

  • Collaborate with translation team on deliverables

Requirements (Education & Experience): 

Experience: 0-3 years writing experience, preferably with software or online systems

Education: Bachelor degree in English, Technical Communication, Engineering or scientific discipline strongly preferred

Communication skills:

  • Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills (both spoken and written)

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand and straight-forward user documentation

Tools & Competencies:

  • Familiarity with tools such as: Confluence, Jira, Google Analytics

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tools and processes quickly

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work both in a team and independently

  • Ability to adapt to rapid changes
