Storage Administrator
Role Description & Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Storage Administrator to manage, support, and optimize our enterprise storage solutions. This role will focus on our key storage technologies, including NetApp, Pure Storage, and Commvault, and will involve both L2 and L3 support for these environments. The ideal candidate will have expertise in storage management, backup solutions, and a deep understanding of data protection practices, with a strong focus on maintaining the operational health, security, and performance of enterprise storage systems.

Storage Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the administration and support of NetApp, Pure Storage, and Commvault storage systems, ensuring they are optimized, secure, and aligned with business requirements.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot storage arrays, backup systems, and related infrastructure.
- Manage capacity planning, performance tuning, and hardware/software upgrades to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.

Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide L2 and L3 support for storage and backup-related incidents and service requests, diagnosing and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Troubleshoot complex storage and backup issues, collaborating with vendors when necessary for resolution..

Backup and Data Protection:
- Manage and support enterprise data protection strategies, ensuring the availability and integrity of backups, disaster recovery processes, and business continuity.
- Optimize backup performance and storage capacity, ensuring consistent and reliable backup operations.

Capacity and Performance Management:
- Ensure efficient use of storage resources, monitor system performance, and manage data growth.
- Implement best practices for system optimization, ensuring high availability, scalability, and efficiency.

Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of storage configurations, processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide performance reports, capacity usage reports, and issue resolution summaries as requested.

Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with other IT teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of storage infrastructure with other enterprise systems.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 3-5 years' experience in a technical environment
- Strong understanding of storage technologies like SAN/NAS, Fibre Channel, NFS, iSCSI, and data replication techniques
- Knowledge of Windows and LINUX file permissions
- Experience managing storage arrays (NetApp, Pure, Dell EMC, etc.)
- Knowledge of networking protocols and concepts
- Strong understanding of backup software and data protection strategies (Commvault, Zerto, etc.)
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies and how they interact with storage
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional IT teams and business customers
- Competent at Powershell scripting and/or equivalent programming/automation experience
- Familiarity with automation and scripting for storage management tasks
Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $105,400-128,300 representing the base salary (or annualized salary based on estimated hourly compensation) and target bonus.
