What Will Your Role Be?

The Staff Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for providing accounting and administrative services to the finance organization and other functions across the company.  This includes processing, reporting, and monitoring payables and expenditures, communicating and resolving issues, assist with revenue recognition by analyzing contracts, comparing and creating Excel reporting templates, as well as driving the monthly close process. 

*Compensation for the this role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $90,000 and $100,000 representing the base salary (or annualized salary based on estimated hourly compensation) and target bonus.


Your Challenges Ahead

  1. General Ledger Accounting 45%

Prepare journal entries in accordance with GAAP and IFRS. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and research variances. During the first six months, become an expert on all close journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Perform ongoing cost analysis throughout the month on posted vouchers and in-depth analysis during month-end. Provide explanations to analyst on any account balance fluctuations from month to month. Utilize problem-solving skills to support the upload our financials into the global consolidation program

Accounts Payable 20%

Perform the day to day processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner. Document accounts payable procedures and company policies. Main responsibilities include verifying employee expense reimbursement approvals, preparing payment (checks and wires), coding vouchers, maintaining the fixed asset entry, add new vendors into the system, and process annual 1099s.

  1. Fixed Asset Accounting 5%

Work with the financial analyst to ensure that all projects and computer purchases are accurately classified as fixed assets or expense. Track and record all fixed asset acquisitions and disposals. Ensure internal controls are followed proper steps for disposals. Three months after hire establish a process with IT to capture asset disposals

  1. Sales royalty templates 15%

Create Excel templates to calculates the royalties due based on customer sales information per complex software agreements containing unique pricing and terms.  This requires problem solving and advanced Excel skills.

  1. Intercompany Accounting 15%

Reconcile intercompany contracts/accounts receivable/revenue and payable. Work with internal business partners to resolve any differences.

Your Key Success Factors

•  4+ years related work experience

•  Education: BA in Accounting or Finance

•  Must have Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel and Outlook

•  Quick learner and self-starter who has the ability to work independently or within a team environment

•  High integrity, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills

•  Ability to diligently seek out proper approvals for payments and ask questions when anything is suspect

•  Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment

•  Strong attention to detail and proven methods of consistency

•  Able to seek out answers when given the opportunity and able to take the initiative to identify and resolve issues

•  Must be open to additional responsibilities and teamwork ethics
