Software Developer C++ - Electromagnetic Simulation (m/f/d)

What will your role be?
As a member of the EMAG LF team, design, develop and continuously improve solver components for the CST Studio Suite in the simulation domain of low frequency electromagnetics. You are responsible to select and implement the best algorithms and technologies to provide a competitive product to end users.


The challenges ahead:
• Work with Sales & Support to understand customer workflows and requirements
• Define new functionality and acceptance tests for your development projects
• Collaborate with colleagues in the field of electromagnetic simulation
• Develop competitive products including solver- and frontend development
• Develop prototypes and proof of concepts to validate your project proposals
• Implement and maintain unit and integration tests


Your key success factors:
• PhD degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent with strong focus on software development
• Profound knowledge in electromagnetics or an aligned discipline
• Knowledge in numerical methods such as FEM, FIT, optimization, meshing is a plus
• Experience in numerical simulation of electrical machines is a plus
• Passion for writing efficient, clean and modular code in C++ (UI and backend)
• Experience in high-performance computing (HPC),  OpenMP 
• Familiar with tools such as version control systems, bug trackers, …
• Follow established workflows such as agile development processes
