Role Description & Responsibilities
Your specific responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Lead and mentor a team of RTR accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and performance.
- Manage the team’s day-to-day activities related to GL accounting, including reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.
- Oversee the preparation and timely submission of financial data for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings for Asia Bus, ensuring compliance with both local and Group reporting requirements.
- Ensure that all accounting records are accurate, complete and in compliance with internal controls, company policies, IFRS, and statutory accounting principles.
- Lead and support internal and external audits by coordinating the preparation of necessary documentation and addressing auditor queries.
- Review and support the preparation of tax provisions, returns and other relevant documents, whilst overseeing the accuracy and timeliness of tax compliance submissions for legal entities in the region.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 9 years working experience in general accounting role within MNC or Shared Service environment, with 1 to 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experienced in managing financial compliance (IFRS), statutory accounting principles and experiences in managing end-to-end statutory audit including annual financial statement
- Strong process control mindset, highly self-motivated with strong analytical skills as well as a good foundation in accounting, with attention to detail and accuracy and good communication skill
- Fluency in English and Chinese is essential. Knowledge of other languages (Japanese, Korean) gives candidates an added advantage
