QA Engineer / Test Engineer (Data Science & Analytics)

Unlock your potential with Dassault Systèmes, a global leader in Scientific Software Engineering as a  QA Engineer / Test Engineer (Data Science & Analytics) in Pune, India

We are looking for a QA professional to validate a data science and analytics service within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The product enables users to build dashboards, explore datasets, configure visualizations (charts, KPIs, tables, maps, and related widgets), and share insights across collaborative workspaces.

Role Description and Responsibilities:

  • Functional testing of analytics features: workspace creation/editing, data import/export, bookmarks, filters, user groups, permissions, migration/upgrade scenarios, and end-to-end user journeys in preview and runtime modes.
  • Visualization & data-science validation: test chart types (bar, line, area, pie/donut, heatmap, scatter, gauge, polar, treemap, sankey, word cloud, Gantt, KPI cards, etc.) for correctness of data binding, formatting, labels, colors, interactions, and configuration panels.
  • Automated test development & maintenance using the team’s ODT/Cheetah framework: write and update JavaScript test scripts, shell test cases, and Page Object-based UI automation for stable, repeatable regression coverage.
  • Connected / cloud testing on integrated environments .execute tests across tenants, users, and roles; investigate environment-specific failures (  auth, data availability).
  • Regression & release validation: run and triage automated suites before releases; analyze failures, reproduce defects, and work with development to confirm fixes.
  • Test design: create test plans, test cases, and traceability from requirements/incidents to automated coverage; identify gaps in chart, KPI, migration, and multi-user scenarios.
  • Defect management: log clear, reproducible issues with logs, screenshots, and steps; validate fixes and prevent regressions.
  • Collaboration with developers on page-object APIs, visualization behavior (including ECharts-based rendering), and testability improvements.
  • Non-functional checks where relevant: performance of heavy dashboards, stability across browsers, accessibility basics, and visual regression (screenshot comparison) for chart rendering.
  • Documentation: maintain test artifacts, runbooks for ODT execution, and knowledge of test data/setup for analytics scenarios.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: Engineering graduate with a minimum of 60% throughout academics and with Data Science domain knowledge.
  • Immediate joiners preferred with 0–30 days’ notice period.
  • 3–5 years of experience in software QA, with strong exposure to web applications and data/analytics products (BI, dashboards, reporting, or data science platforms).
  • Solid understanding of manual and automated testing methodologies, test case design, regression strategy, and defect lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript test automation (or willingness to ramp quickly); familiarity with UI automation patterns such as Page Objects.
  • Experience testing data visualizations: charts, tables, filters, aggregations, formatting, and verifying displayed values against expected datasets.
  • Ability to work in complex enterprise environments: multi-user access, roles/permissions, import/export, migration, and integrated cloud/platform setups.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills: read logs, isolate UI vs data vs environment issues, and communicate findings clearly to engineering.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools and agile delivery practices.
  • Good written and verbal communication; comfortable working with distributed engineering teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Dassault Systèmes / 3DEXPERIENCE, NETVIBES, or similar enterprise analytics/dashboard products.
  • Exposure to   Leadfoot/Intern/playwright, or comparable in-house/enterprise UI test frameworks.
  • TypeScript or experience maintaining typed page-object libraries.
  • Knowledge of ECharts or similar charting libraries and how to validate chart options, labels, and interactions programmatically.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Continuous Delivery workspaces, and running automated suites in shared test infrastructure.
  • Basic SQL or data-query literacy to validate analytics outputs and test datasets.
  • Background in data science concepts: measures, dimensions, aggregations, time series, part-to-whole analysis, correlation views, and KPI indicators.
  • Experience testing SaaS/cloud deployments, authentication (SSO), and tenant-specific configurations.

Nice to have:

  • Scripting in shell/bash for test orchestration.
  • Performance or load testing of dashboard-heavy applications.
  • Prior work on migration/upgrade test campaigns for analytics or workspace content.
