INTERNSHIP - User Experience Researcher

Role Description & Responsibilities

The SOLIDWORKS User Experience Design team is a multidisciplinary group of user experience designers, researchers, and engineers who are responsible for the user experience and user interface of SOLIDWORKS products. Our products span desktop, web, mobile, and AR/VR platforms.

As a User Experience Research Intern, you’ll help ensure user insights are at the heart of our product development. You’ll support and conduct a range of research activities to uncover user needs, test designs, and improve the experience across our platforms. This is an opportunity to make a real impact while gaining hands-on experience in an enterprise software environment.

Some of your responsibilities will include the following:

• Assist in planning and conducting user research across product discovery, concept development, and detailed design phases
• Support and run remote usability tests, user interviews, surveys, and other research studies
• Manage participant recruitment, scheduling, and study logistics to ensure timely and organized execution
• Contribute to exploratory and evaluative research focused on AI-assisted engineering workflows and next-generation interaction models
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to uncover actionable insights
• Create journey maps and other visual artifacts to communicate user workflows, goals, pain points, and opportunities
• Contribute to improving research operations, documentation processes, and participant management systems
