Director of Business Development – Consumer Product & Science – North America
Role Description & Responsibilities
As a Director of Business Development – Consumer Product & Science – North America, you will drive strategic growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing high-value opportunities in Science in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, and position differentiated solutions across Lab, Material Science, Formulation, and Modeling & Simulation domains.
As a trusted customer-facing leader, you will act as a business catalyst, from opportunity identification through deal signature leveraging our strong portfolio of solutions (spanning across Formulation, Modeling, Simulation, PLM…) and the expertise of Global and Local teams.
Key responsibilities include:
• Opportunity Assessment & Strategic Framing: Identify and qualify strategic market development opportunities in Food, Cosmetics, Laundry, and Packaging markets.
• Execution and Expansion: execute market development strategies that expand pipeline, improve win rates, and drive revenue, combining immediate revenue generation with long-term market expansion.
• Thought Leadership:
o Engage and influence C-level stakeholders. Be a trusted partner who understands short and long term needs.
o Lead Marketing Activation that sells: Actively participate in marketing events to foster awareness of Dassault Systèmes, represent the company in webinars / conferences / customer events / public speaking opportunities.
o Develop scalable customer success stories, including KPIs, win/loss insights, and references
• Operational:
o Developing scalable customer success stories, including KPIs, win/loss insights, and references
o Maintaining accurate pipeline visibility and client engagement tracking within CRM systems
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a scientific discipline
• Experience: 10-15 years total professional experience, with 5+ years in enterprise software business development or strategic sales.
• Proven success selling into Lab, Material Science, Formulation, or Modeling & Simulation within CPG (Food, Cosmetics, Laundry, Packaging)
• Industry Network: Established network of executive contacts; proven ability to navigate complex sales cycles and to influence senior stakeholders
• Proactive, self-driven, entrepreneurial. Taste for conquest and business results.
• Persuasive communicator and active listener, recognized thought leadership presence, with the ability to position Dassault Systèmes as a trusted transformation partner and industry innovator
• Demonstrated success in both fast-cycle solution selling and complex, multi-year transformation programs within large companies.
• Location & Travel: Flexible within Midwest or East Coast DS site locations; up to 50% travel

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation for the role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $204000 and $272000, representing the base salary (or annualized salary based on estimated hourly compensation) and target bonus.
