Your Mission:
We are looking for a Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion who will shape our global strategy at Medidata. You will create/translate strategy and programs into the best employee experience by optimizing our DEI strategy throughout the employee lifecycle. This manager level position reports to the VP, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with specific responsibility for strategy development of diversity, equity and inclusion and CSR programs. You will guide the strategy, implementation and administration of our diversity and inclusion programs to develop and retain a diverse workforce, and to foster a fair and inclusive work environment. You will be both on the ground able to guide strategy, and design diversity and inclusion solutions in partnership with our People Team colleagues.
You can work in either our New York City, NY or Iselin (Metropark), NJ locations.
In this role you will:
Provide strategic direction and expertise to support programs to develop diverse talent and integrate diversity and inclusion into programs for hiring, retention, rewards, development and engagement. (HR Relationship Partners, Learning & Development, Recruiting, CSR)
Identify and build relationships with external partners, including specialists and peer organizations, that provide impact and support our CSR and diversity and inclusion strategies for underrepresented groups
Collaborate with our Marketing and Communications' team to develop a multi-media strategy to highlight our achievements, and create awareness of our culture and inclusion programs, events and progress.
Develop tracking strategies to monitor and evaluate impact and value of programs; develop dashboards and reports on program effectiveness against established goals, with insights for the senior leadership team
Oversee the metrics for measuring the effectiveness of diversity and Inclusion programs. Develop tracking strategies to monitor and evaluate impact and value, develop dashboards and reports on program effectiveness against established goals. Analyze data with insights for program enhancement and improvement.
Oversee the management of our eleven Business Resource Groups. Be an advisor to the BRGs, providing strategic direction and guidance, and ensuring their effectiveness and alignment with our business and talent priorities.
Consult with the business on customized department strategies for equity and inclusion
Design toolkits and resources to empower the business to manage their diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging efforts
Monitor trends in the marketplace, identify opportunities, and develop strategies to meet needs.
May oversee the implementation and maintenance of affirmative action and equal opportunity compliance programs.
Your Competencies:
Skills in collaboration: communicates often with peers and manages change with empathy
Your Education and Experience:
BA / BS degree
10+ years professional experience in designing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging strategy with experience in implementing successful talent and people programs
Experience planning and leading global programs at scale with an established point of view on the intersection of US and global DEI programs
Previous HR experience and thoughtful understanding of HR practices and talent management processes, including performance management, compensation, internal mobility, engagement and retention
Experience analyzing numerical data, and translating analyses into meaningful recommendations to inform decisions
Experience drawing from technical knowledge, empirically based research and prior research to tailor solutions to meet the needs of an organization's unique culture and population
Experience developing and empowering employees across multiple global locations
Experience with facilitation and public speaking
Experience researching, building, and driving strategic plans
Experience with project management and project coordination
Experience with strategy development (creation of roadmaps) and project management
Experience working across the business and establish cross functional relationship
