Our Team:

At Medidata, we never work alone. This role will partner heavily with all of the key stakeholder functions including product, delivery, data science, engineering, partnerships, and biostatistics. Successful Medidata AI candidates will be skilled in analytical/quantitative thinking, structured communication, and excited about building the next horizon of Medidata’s mission to power smarter treatments and healthier
Provide strategic technical guidance for motivated data engineering teams
Lead technical delivery of complex cloud-based data systems (AWS and Snowflake), balancing depth of analysis and delivery timing
Architect and build data and modeling pipelines for research and production with data engineering best practices, quality, transparency and scalability.
Grow the Acorn AI data science engineering function through recruiting, coaching, and employee development.
Solve complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of cross-organizational and client goals
Engage with business leaders, engineers, data scientists and cross-functional partners to implement data science engineering solutions based on our solution priorities and technology projects
Your Education and Experience:
10+ years of increasing supervisory and mentoring experience combining definition of strategy with a hands-on management approach
Master's degree in a quantitative science, life science or equivalent
Focus on maintaining large, scalable environments for the enrichment, linking and analysis of complex data sets
Experience building complex, automated data processes in Python, Spark, AWS, Airflow, Snowflake and other technologies
Commitment to creating rigorous, high-quality insights from data at scale.
The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $157,500 to $210,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata’s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
