AI Software Engineer for Development Team in SOLIDWORKS
Role Description & Responsibilities
Our Dassault Systemes SOLIDWORKS AI Powered Development team is excited to announce we have an AI Software Engineer opportunity available in our Waltham, MA office!
In this role you will deliver World Class Apps. Continuously improve deliveries based on usage and user feedbacks. Contribute to the development and maintenance the SOLIDWORKS CAD application across the full software development lifecycle, including:
· Design and implement AI-driven product features and AI agents to drive customer productivity
· Build multi-step reasoning workflows where AI agents parse instructions, plan tasks, and execute CAD operations.
· Integrate AI agents with client-server architectures using WebSocket, REST, or other communication protocols.
· Contribute ideas, AI skills and feedback on internal R&D development pipeline to help drive R&D efficiency and productivity around agentic AI development.
· Prototyping and feature development
· Designing and implementing scalable software components
· Debugging, profiling, and performance optimization
· Writing maintainable and testable code
· Testing and validation
· Regularly assess metrics and Customers feedback/log data to identify areas for quality or performance improvement.
· Perform lessons learned and RCA to identify Root Causes of severe issues and propose Improvements actions to prevent such type of issues in the future (trainings, tools, process, operations, ...)
· Documentation and technical collaboration
Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary R&D team:
· Collaborate with colleagues across multiple international teams and technology domains.
· Participate in sprint planning and technical discussions
· Contribute to project definition and implementation
· Collaborate with developers, QA, UX, product definition and product management
· Continuously improve development processes and product quality
Technological intelligence:
Keep abreast of the latest technological developments, understand the requirements of our development partners, know about competing products, look ahead for future products, technologies, languages, etc.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science Engineering, IT, or a related Engineering stream.
2–5 years of experience in C#, C++, Python, AI technologies.
Background:
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles and object-oriented programming
- Interest in 3D computer graphics, rendering, visualization, or game engine technologies
- Experience with modern graphics APIs or rendering frameworks is a plus
- Familiarity with CAD, visualization, simulation, or content creation applications is beneficial
- Interest or experience in AI/ML technologies related to graphics, rendering, image generation, or workflow automation is a plus

- Knowledge of other scripting languages is a plus
AI Technologies:
- AI / ML Foundations - Strong understanding of:
- LLMs (prompting, fine-tuning, evaluation)
- Embeddings, vector search (RAG systems)
- Agent frameworks (multi-step reasoning, tool use)
- Experience with:
- LangChain or LlamaIndex
- OpenAI / Gemini / Claude APIs

Inclusion statement
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation for the role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $110000 and $135000, representing the base salary (or annualized salary based on estimated hourly compensation) and target bonus.
