Dassault Systèmes Goes Cloud with Amazon Web Services

Introducing cloud-based applications for enterprise solutions and open Version 6 platform for application developers

Milano, 12 luglio 2011 – Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), azienda leader a livello mondiale nelle soluzioni 3D e nelle tecnologie per il Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), e Amazon Web Services (AWS), società di Amazon.com, (NASDAQ: AMZN), leader nell’ambito cloud con la sua “infrastruttura elastica”, hanno annunciato un accordo di collaborazione grazie al quale imprese di tutte le dimensioni potranno avere accesso alle soluzioni V6 di Dassault Systèmes sulla piattaforma di AWS. L’annuncio risponde alla crescente richiesta di tecnologie cloud da parte di organizzazioni di ogni tipo, per implementare, mantenere e accedere a soluzioni e servizi 3D e PLM con modalità più flessibili ed efficienti.
Dassault Systèmes offre una piattaforma unica sulla quale realizzare esperienze realistiche, gestire informazioni in maniera intelligente, favorire la social innovation, immaginare con il 3D e strutturare le risorse e le attività dell’azienda per una produzione ottimale. La “piattaforma esperienziale” 3DS è costruita sulla tecnologia Versione 6, che rappresenta la base di tutti i brand 3DS (CATIA, SolidWorks, SIMULIA, DELMIA, ENOVIA, 3DVIA, Exalead, 3DSWYM). Dassault Systèmes sfrutterà diversi servizi di AWS per la propria piattaforma Versione 6, rendendo in tal modo disponibili una gamma di risorse:

•    Risorse informatiche ad alte prestazioni e alta disponibilità: Dassault Systèmes sfrutterà Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) per offrire a ciascun cliente ambienti di calcolo discreti.
•    Estensione geografica: Grazie all’estensione su scala globale della piattaforma AWS, Dassault Systèmes garantisce a tutti i clienti la migliore esperienza possibile, a prescindere dalla loro posizione geografica. Attraverso le Region di AWS, Dassault Systèmes può garantire che i dati destinati a rimanere entro determinati limiti geografici effettivamente non fuoriescano da tali confini.
•    Stoccaggio di contenuti di progettazione facilmente accessibili: Utilizzando Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) e Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Dassault Systèmes potrà archiviare grandi volumi di dati di progettazione senza la necessità di supportare un’ampia gamma di piattaforme esistenti. Con Amazon EBS e Amazon S3, i clienti avranno accesso immediato a grandi capacità di stoccaggio di dati, oltre alla comprovata affidabilità di Amazon S3 a livello di backup.

Dassault Systèmes metterà inoltre a disposizione di tutti gli sviluppatori un ambiente online completo per sviluppare, fornire, vendere e implementare soluzioni di Lifelike Experience sulla piattaforma AWS. Inoltre, Dassault Systèmes punta a sfruttare le AWS High Performance Computing Solutions per realizzare le più complesse esperienze di universi virtuali in 3D e per gestire i carichi di elaborazione più pesanti, come ad esempio i processi di calcolo parallelo tipici di settori come la fluidodinamica computazionale e le simulazioni di strutture e “system of system”. Le soluzioni HPC di Amazon sono specificamente concepite per unire prestazioni di calcolo elevate con funzionalità di rete ad alta capacità.
