U.S. Army Authorizes EXALEAD Search-Based Applications with Certificate of Networthiness
Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), today announced that its subsidiary Exalead, a global provider of search-based applications (SBA) technology, has announced that Exalead CloudView has been awarded the Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) from the U.S. Army.
Exalead CloudView is the leading platform for search-based applications. It collects data from any source, in any format, and automatically transforms the data into a single structured information resource for unified search, data access, and reporting.
Easily integrated with Microsoft SharePoint, Exalead CloudView is highly scalable and can index billions of documents and serve thousands of users. Its advanced semantics processing provides inferred faceted navigation and improved search breadth and relevancy ranking. Its flexible multi-layer security supports highly diverse security architectures.
The U.S. Army began using Exalead's search-based applications platform in 2009 in order to improve speed and effectiveness while searching SharePoint. With its new CoN certification, Exalead CloudView has been certified by the Army to meet the highest standards for security, interoperability, and sustainability and is now approved for adoption by all U.S. Army agencies. Exalead's CoN tracking code is NETSUB-08454.
Like other government agencies and civilian businesses, the U.S. Army is facing the growing challenge of Big Data. Currently more than 80% of government information resources originate in email, electronic documents, and rich media online. With terabytes and even petabytes of data being created and stored, the growing challenge of securing, indexing and searching this tsunami of data is overwhelming traditional enterprise search products. Government and businesses are turning to the adoption of semantics-enabled search-based applications, such as those created on the Exalead platform to address these challenges. With semantics processing, Exalead CloudView enables IT organizations to serve this data to users at a lower cost and with improved effectiveness.
"There has never been a more urgent time for government, defense, and civilian agencies to upgrade their information search architectures as data collection is accelerating, especially via SharePoint deployments," said Paul Doscher, Exalead CEO. "We have seen a surge in interest from government departments who are relying on Exalead SBAs in order extract greater value from their amassed data. With Exalead's new Certificate of Networthiness, we expect to see governmental adoption continue to grow."
