SPATIAL plays key role in expanding Dassault Systèmes’ ecosystem through CAA V5 support and professional services

Paris, France (CAA V5 Developer Conference) and Westminster, CO., USA - March 1, 2004 - Spatial Corp., a Dassault Systèmes (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) company, today announced that it has signed over 30 CAA V5 Adopters, bringing the total number of CAA V5 partners to 70, including the latest, CD-adapco Group UK. Spatial Corp. is a market-leading provider of 3D development technologies and the global sales and technical support network for Dassault Systèmes’ Component Application Architecture version 5 (CAA V5) development platform.

Dassault Systèmes’ major clients use the CAA V5 open architecture to develop internal applications that fulfill their specialized business needs and to protect their corporate property. In addition, through the CAA V5 Software Community Program, independent software firms can develop applications based on Dassault Systèmes’ industry-leading V5 environment that not only supports Dassault Systèmes’ CATIA, ENOVIA, DELMIA, and SMARTEAM solutions, but also the nearly 200 V5-based PLM applications already delivered through its software partner ecosystem. The unique V5 ecosystem is unrivalled in the PLM market for the number of specialized PLM products it comprises.

Spatial’s mission is to increase CAA V5 adoption in the marketplace to establish it as the leading PLMware for developing cutting-edge PLM solutions. CAA V5 has already been adopted by more than 2,600 engineers at Dassault Systèmes and its partners worldwide, including a large number of the leading software companies in the manufacturing sector.

“We are pleased to be the most recent addition to the list of Spatial CAA V5 Adopters,” said Peter MacDonald, president, CD-adapco Group. “We are planning on developing an analysis add-in for our STAR-CD product that is specific to the CATIA V5 environment, and becoming a Spatial CAA V5 Adopter will allow us to do that quickly and efficiently.”

"By becoming a CAA V5 Adopter, we widened the appeal of our Collaboration Gateway to anyone requiring feature-based data exchange with CATIA V5,” said Michael Jannery, vice president of marketing for Proficiency, Spatial’s first CAA V5 Adopter. “Spatial provides a convenient channel to CAA V5, which contributes to the richness and value of our solution."

"The Adopter initiative presents a simplified path toward development on the CAA V5 platform," said Keith Mountain, vice president of marketing for Spatial. “Adopters receive the benefits of the CAA V5 platform, making them an increasingly important population in the V5 marketplace."

Spatial’s CAA V5 Adopters span several subsets of the engineering industry, from analysis and mechanical design to interoperability and production management. For a list of Spatial Adopters and their products, visit www.spatial.com/products/CAA/CAAprod/CAAadopters.html.
