Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) announced today that its subsidiary, Exalead, the European leader in search and information access software for the enterprise and the Web, has signed an agreement with France’s National Audiovisual Institute (INA, Institut National de l’Audiovisuel). The INA chose the Exalead CloudView® platform to build a number of applications, including new services for Web visitors (Ina.fr), collaborators (Totem), and professional clients (Inamédiapro.com).
A Single Solution Offering Performance, Scalability and Proven Usability
Highly conscious of the opportunities in the rapidly changing landscape of online video consumption, and driven by a need for consistency in its information systems, the INA chose Exalead CloudView as the platform through which all of its applications and their users would access INA content. The Exalead solution stood out among the competition in terms of performance, agility and user experience, which is what the INA needed to address these new challenges.
Today, with Exalead CloudView, the INA can index all of its bibliographic entries, which are distributed among several heterogeneous databases. The INA's information assets represent tens of millions of bibliographic entries, including more than 100,000 television and radio programs and 200,000 commercials.
Three Different Applications for Three Different Audiences
Exalead and the INA are working together on three applications:
"We want all of our users -- clients, visitors, and staff -- to have rich and intuitive applications for accessing the entirety of our audiovisual and advertising archives. Choosing Exalead is a step in the right direction because it simplifies the user experience. Furthermore, with Exalead CloudView, we can handle the explosion of data volume without increasing our overhead costs," says Nicolas Bogucki, INA Associate IT Director. He adds, "We were sold on Exalead during the test phase. Now, after the successful launch of the Ina.fr search service, we're deploying other applications, and are more than satisfied with the responsiveness and availability of the Exalead teams who accompanied us, particularly when it came to developing specific tools for automatic filtering and categorization."
