Magestic Systems joins Dassault Systèmes’ CAA V5 Software Partner Community

Magestic Systems delivers V5 Manufacturing solutions in a unified V5 PLM environment

Old Tappan, NJ, and Paris, France - October 12, 2004 – Dassault Systèmes (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) today announced that Magestic Systems Inc., a market-leading provider of manufacturing solutions for nesting and laser projection, has joined the company’s Software Community Program (SCP) as a Component Application Architecture Version 5 (CAA V5) Software Partner.

Magestic Systems will develop, market, and sell nesting, cutting and laser programming solutions based on CAA V5. Operating within the CATIA V5 environment, Magestic’s TruLASER View for Composites and TruNEST for Composites solutions will enhance Dassault Systèmes’ PLM portfolio.

The CAA V5-based TruLASER View for Composites solution will extend the scope of the CATIA – Composites Design 3 solution to composite manufacturing and will directly access V5 composites design information for export to various types of laser-projection equipment. CATIA - Composites Design 3 (CPD) is an advanced process-centric composites solution that allows manufacturers to reduce the time needed to design composites parts.

TruLASER View for Composites supports Virtek, LPT, LAP Laser, Assembly Guidance and SL-laser machines. The solution provides manufacturers using laser-projection technology with a powerful tool for organizing and optimizing geometry for use with many applications associated with laser projection.

CAA V5-based TruNEST for Composites offers a fully integrated nesting system with a highly sophisticated multiple-algorithm approach. Seamlessly integrated with the CATIA V5 Composites solution, TruNEST for Composites automatically nests actual part shapes, enables interactive creation and edition of nests, and generates CNC files for all types of cutting machines. It also optimizes cost by selecting the most cost-effective material size, thereby increasing productivity and enabling more efficient utilization of materials.
