Innovation, Collaboration Technology Highlight PLM Summit Opening Day Presentations at COE 2007

PLM Market Leaders Discuss Strategies, Proposed Acquisition of ICEM, and Demonstrate Groundbreaking Technology

Las Vegas, April 30, 2007 ─ IBM and Dassault Systèmes (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions, today opened the COE 2007 Annual Conference by hosting PLM Summit, a full day of presentations from some of the world’s most prestigious companies.

Bentley Motors, Goodrich Aerostructures, Faurecia auto parts, Johnson Controls, Bath Iron Works, Lockheed Martin, and the engineering team competing for the world land speed record are among the customers scheduled to talk today about PLM technology’s role in promoting innovation, reducing time to market, raising quality and increasing profits.

Dassault Systèmes CEO Bernard Charlès keynote presentation will focus on Dassault Systèmes’ PLM strategy, vision and product portfolio, including the recently announced acquisition of ICEM, the leading provider of styling, high-quality surface modeling and rendering solutions, as well as current market and business trends driving PLM market growth.

“PLM Summit and COE are all about Dassault Systèmes, IBM and our customers sharing different ways of achieving PLM value, demonstrating new technology breakthroughs, like 3DLive, and talking about the vision of PLM,” said Philippe Forestier, Dassault Systèmes’ executive vice president, Network Selling, and the company’s senior Americas executive.  “The acquisition of ICEM, announced last Friday, is an example of Dassault Systèmes’ well-thought out vision of providing the best possible solutions to industry.”

IBM Worldwide Vice President Al Bunshaft will talk about a PLM strategy’s role in business success and how more efficient design and manufacturing processes are a requirement in today’s marketplace.

“The rich variety of PLM implementations our customers described today demonstrate what a versatile, adaptable technology it is for increasing profits through 3D design, collaboration, simulation, and business process management,” said IBM’s Mark Lefebvre director of Marketing and Strategy, IBM PLM Solutions.

COE (CATIA Operators Exchange) Annual Conference is an international gathering of designers and engineers who use Dassault Systèmes’ software solutions including, CATIA, ENOVIA, and DELMIA to develop products ranging from aircraft to vehicles to oil drilling platforms. COE 2007 opened with a reception last night and continues until May 2 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel in Las Vegas with more than 100 breakout sessions on current topics in PLM. COE 2007 also features the Technifair, an exhibition of PLM-related hardware, software and services available from 60 Dassault Systèmes partners.
