F. X. Meiller Selects ENOVIAVPM as its e-business Solution

Meiller anticipates significant savings in product development time by using ENOVIAVPM

 

Munich (Germany) and Paris (France), 12 October 2000 - F.X. Meiller Fahrzeug- und Maschinenfabrik-GmbH & Co. KG (Meiller), a leading manufacturer of tippers (dumpsters), skip handlers and hydraulics for commercial vehicles, IBM and Dassault Systemes (NASDAQ:DASTY, Bourse de Paris) announced today that  Meiller has selected ENOVIAVPM for the company’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes.<br/>

 

 

The agreement includes the purchase of ENOVIAVPM licenses to manage the large number of CATIA Solutions models and assemblies used in the manufacture of  Meiller products for the commercial vehicle industry. The company estimates that it will significantly improve data quality and save product development time by using ENOVIAVPM. <br/>

 

 

Meiller will use ENOVIAVPM to manage the design of the hydraulics, subframe and body that make up a tipper, which is used for transporting goods such as heavy materials, construction machinery and trash. ENOVIAVPM is a timesaving solution for Meiller, because it manufactures many variations of both standard and custom-built tippers. <br/>

 

 

In general, a tipper consists of up to 1000 parts, each represented by a CATIA model. ENOVIAVPM’s complete integration with CATIA will enable Meiller engineers to work concurrently and collaboratively with a customer directly on their CATIA models. This will reduce overall product development time. It will also simplify the fabrication of parts, because Meiller engineers will be able to program their machines directly from the CATIA models.<br/>

 

 

In addition to its ENOVIAVPM licenses, Meiller has CATIA solutions running on IBM RS/6000 workstations and servers using IBM DB2 database software.<br/>
