Deneb Robotics Announces General Availability of D5_11 Release

Focused enhancements boost advanced industry processes productivity

Troy, MI, November 9, 1999--Deneb Robotics, a leader in Digital Manufacturing and Dassault Systemes company (Nasdaq : DASTY), today announce the general availability of Deneb Digital Manufacturing Solutions Version 5 Release 1.1 (D5_11). This release provides manufacturing engineers with seamless integration between Deneb D5_11 and ENOVIAVPM solutions. The combination of Product and Process knowledge ensures direct access to up-to-date product and resource data throughout the entire product development life cycle, and across the extended enterprise.

The integration of Deneb D5_11 and ENOVIAVPM enables full associativity within the product and process design including part creation, change management, tooling, assembly manufacturing, serviceability and documentation. Deneb D5_11 provides customers with improved efficiency through a higher degree of integration, and the use of a unique development process.

"Combining leading-edge software from Deneb with an enterprise-class PDM system brings to our customers the ability to handle bi-directional, active -not passive- notification of part and process design changes" said Rakesh Mahajan, CEO of Deneb Robotics. "You improve the quality of the manufacturing process through the tight integration and interoperability of our two products. In working with Deneb Digital Manufacturing solutions and ENOVIA Product Modeling Solutions, a user is assured of getting the right data at the right place at the right time."

Deneb D5_11 supports out-of-the-box compatibility with NT systems, and the ability to directly import Unigraphics and Pro-Engineer geometry, plus standard translators for all mechanical CAD packages. In this release, the CATIA Direct Access module is enhanced with new support of Sun and Hewlett-Packard Unix platforms in addition to SGI and IBM.

"This integration between CATIA and Deneb applications greatly enhance the productivity of our users with direct access to the geometry, product hierarchy and attributes from the CATIA world" said Pascal Lecland, Executive vice-president of Research and Development for Deneb. "The ENOVIAVPM link provides the essential configuration management of not only the product data, but also the process and manufacturing resource models. This integrated solution enables a world-class environment for product, process and resource optimization throughout the product life cycle."

This announcement demonstrates the company’s commitment to continued improvement of process-centric integrated solutions for all its customers and partners.
