Dassault Systemes welcomes two new Partners into the Software Community Program: EADS Matra Datavision and Metalsoft Inc.

Paris (France), July 10, 2001 – Dassault Systemes (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA)  announced today the signing of two development agreements: EADS Matra Datavision and Metalsoft Inc. have now joined the “Software Community Program”. Through these development partnerships these two companies will create, market and sell applications based on the V5 Component Application Architecture (CAA V5), integrated and complementary to CATIA V5 solutions. <br/>

 

 

EADS Matra Datavision is developing on CAA V5, EUCLID3 Connectors, a “bridge” between EUCLID3 and CATIA V5. The purpose of this development is to sustain Euclid 3 users in transferring and migrating all EUCLID3 data to CATIA V5 through a direct interface. This means productivity gains: users save time when migrating their data; EUCLID3 Connectors will work for them efficiently and quickly – and ease of use: the product will work through a database browser fully integrated into CATIA V5 allowing a simple transfer of the entire EUCLID3 data. <br/>

 

 

Metalsoft Inc. will develop on CAA V5 FabriWin that consists in integrating FabriWin into CATIA V5 in order to cover the entire process from sheet metal design to manufacturing and analysis. FabriWin is a CAD/CAM solution for sheet metal fabrication, which generates CNC programs for all your CNC punch, laser, plasma and combination machines with ONE CAD/CAM system. In the very first phase of its development, FabriWin will enable engineers to directly access the flat layout geometry and the bend line data from the sheet metal parts designed and loaded in CATIA V5 Sheet Metal Design module, without having to go through file translations. The OLE Automation interface means for users ease of use : a push of a button will transfer the data from CATIA V5 to FabriWin; this interface using OLE Automation will facilitate future modifications and enhancements – and accuracy : no intermediate file translation, no data loss. <br/>
