Dassault Systèmes Subsidiary Provides Real-World Finite Element Analysis Training at Sinhagad College

Pune, India, December 8, 2006 - Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, has announced that ABAQUS Engineering India Pvt. Ltd., part of DS’s SIMULIA brand, recently held a week long training program on Finite Element Analysis (FEA) at the Sinhagad College of Engineering. Over 45 professors and senior lecturers from 22 leading engineering colleges including COEP, MIT, VIT and Sinhagad College participated in the workshop, which leveraged the technology and methods of ABAQUS FEA software.

Sudhakar Teram, head of technical support, Dassault Systèmes, conducted the workshop. “Going beyond the realms of basic Finite Element Analysis, ABAQUS allows users to explore the world of what's possible,” comments Mr Teram.  “It helps solve your engineering challenges using FEA technology that is capable of simulating real-world behavior. Due to the overwhelming response of the teaching fraternity, we have decided to conduct the workshop again in April 2007.”  

ABAQUS is the world’s leading advanced FEA software and the foundation of DS’s SIMULIA brand. The software is used by engineers at major manufactures to simulate and validate real-world performance of their products during the design phase. ABAQUS FEA software has been recently introduced as a part of the M.Tech curriculum in the mechanical engineering stream. The aim of the workshop, hosted by ABAQUS Engineering India, was to train the faculty members of various engineering colleges on state-of-the-art FEA methods using ABAQUS. The week-long workshop entailed comprehensive sessions on FEA theory as well as practical applications.
