Dassault Systemes’ Software Partners Expand 3D PLM Portfolio with Record Number of Complementary Products
More than 35 Dassault Systemes CAA V5 partners deliver 50 3D PLM products with another 20 to be available by end of 2002
Paris, France - November 19, 2002 - Dassault Systemes (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) today announced that 18 months after the launch of the Component Application Architecture V5 (CAA V5) Software Community Program (SCP), more than 35 leading independent software vendors (ISV) have delivered 50 CAA V5 based products to complement Dassault Systemes’ V5 3D Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) portfolio including CATIA, ENOVIA, and DELMIA V5.
In order to provide customers' end-to-end processes with high quality 3D PLM applications, Dassault Systemes delivers an open CAA V5 architecture. CAA V5 is a comprehensive development platform that permits developers to integrate their solutions with Dassault Systemes’ 3D PLM offering, extend the scope of their solutions, and create interoperability with other-vendor business process solutions (CRM, SCM, ERP) leveraging the 3D PLM middleware. Through its Software Community Program, Dassault Systemes develops strategic partnerships with leading ISVs such as Hitachi Zosen, LMS International, MSC.Software, Nihon Unisys Ltd. and many others that develop, market and sell V5-based solutions.
“The success of CAA V5 among top leading ISVs clearly confirms the openness of CAA V5 and reinforces Dassault Systemes’ goal to make CAA V5 the standard for best of breed PLM application development,“ said Stéphane Declee, vice president R&D Strategy & Research, Dassault Systemes. “The wide range of domains covered by our partners’ solutions demonstrates the completeness of our current API portfolio. Process centric customers benefit from the largest and most tightly integrated 3D PLM portfolio developed by Dassault Systemes and its partners.”
The openness of the component-based V5 architecture allows access to multiple modelers (i.e. Geometric and feature modelers, technological modelers, applicative modelers) and enables CAA V5 partners to develop 3D PLM solutions for all industry domains even for the most specialized ones. By providing domain-specific platforms (i.e. Analysis, Manufacturing) and a wide spectrum of more than 2600 APIs, the CAA V5 environment helps partners cut development time and time-to-market.
Examples of niche V5 applications developed by partners include: Tell Watch from Polysoft for watch and jewelry design; SPEOS from Optis simulates photometric and colorimetric characteristics of light; REALVIZ Compositing from Realviz integrates static or animated V5 models such as images, panoramas or video sequences into real environments; and M-Crash from Mecalog simulates car crashes. 3D PLM customers benefit from these specialized V5 integrated high-end technologies, some for domains never before imagined. Today, nine CAA V5 partners announced new products bringing the total number of CAA V5 products to 50. The partners are: CENIT (Laser Cutting), FTI (sheet metal formability), ICEM CFD (Hexahedral meshing), INCAT (quality checking), MSC.Software (Analysis), OCE (printing), Optis (light analysis), Realviz (Panorama creation) and Samtech (Non-linear and Thermal analysis),
The CAA V5 Community is composed of 3D PLM customers, IBM Business Partners, Service partners, Software partners and ISVs. In addition to the SCP, Dassault Systemes Group company SPATIAL, through the CAA V5 Adopters community, leverages its 14 years of experience working with ISVs to accelerate and promote CAA V5 adoption on the marketplace. SPATIAL already welcomed more than ten new CAA V5 Adopters since its introduction a few months ago.
Dassault Systemes is the premier global 3D PLM solutions provider. 3D PLM enables customers to optimize their business Processes for Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance & Support, using Collaborative Workspaces to share a common product, process and resource model (PPR). With PPR, companies can capture, share and reuse Knowledge all along the product life cycle. The open CAA V5 (Component Application Architecture) allows extension and integration of this solution within multiple enterprise environments.
