Dassault Systèmes, Mexico’s Technological University of Aguascalientes and the French Ministry of Education Create Innovation Center

New PLM Competency Center Brings 3DEXPERIENCE to Dozens of Universities Nationwide, Boosts Education in Digital Innovation

VELIZY-VILLACOUBLAY, France – July 23, 2015 — Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), the 3DEXPERIENCE Company, world leader in 3D design software, 3D Digital Mock Up and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced that it signed an agreement with the Technological University of Aguascalientes (TUA) in Mexico and the French Ministry for Higher Education and Research to establish a PLM Competency Center (PLMCC) at TUA.

The PLMCC will focus on developing educator expertise in the use of Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform.  The objective of the Center is to nurture a new generation of Mexican engineers and technicians that can master and deploy the most up-to-date practices and software for competitive product and services development. It will produce curricula featuring practices that characterize the experience economy, associating consumer experience with engineering activity.  The PLMCC will have a country-wide role in serving any institution in higher or vocational education willing to acquire this methodology to educate talent.

The French Ministry of Education is providing a multi-year assignment of a full-time professor to design training programs for the PLMCC and coordinate activities. While 100 educators at participating institutions have already received training, the PLMCC will accelerate professional educators’ development at 125 institutions nationwide.

“By implementing the PLMCC, we are going beyond increasing the employability of our students and arming them with the most competitive competencies to transform industry,” said Dr. Jorge A. Llamas Esparza, Rector, TUA. “By modernizing our own educational competences, we can maximize the impact of the center.”

“The PLMCC at TUA is inspired by a cooperative model to accelerate the development of world-class education, which has already been successfully established in Brazil, India, China and Vietnam,” said Philippe Forestier, Executive Vice President, Dassault Systèmes. “Its scope extends the benefits of modernizing the learning experience by using Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform to all participating institutions in Mexico.”
