Dassault Systemes creates DELMIA the World Premier e-Manufacturing Brand for the Digital Enterprise
Leveraging on DENEB, DELTA and SAFEWORK, DELMIA delivers collaborative solutions for Lean Manufacturing
Suresnes (France), 7 June 2000--Dassault Systemes (NASDAQ: DASTY) today announces the creation of DELMIA, its new brand for e-Manufacturing. DELMIA consolidates Deneb, DELTA and SAFEWORK under a unique brand and provides the Manufacturing Community with e-solutions to create, monitor and control agile, distributed manufacturing systems geared towards build-to-order (BtO) and Lean Manufacturing and production (LM).
DELMIA becomes the world premier Digital Manufacturing provider, offering customers the most comprehensive and integrated methodologies and solutions to fully address their digital manufacturing needs.
Philippe Charlès will operate as DELMIA Chief Executive Officer, reporting to Dominique Florack, Executive Vice President of Dassault Systemes, with headquarter in Troy, Michigan (USA).
DELMIA develops e-business solutions for manufacturing by implementing a process centric solution to define, monitor and control production systems from single device work cell, production line, factory material flow to extended enterprise production flow.
DELMIA will serve industry segments where continuous transformation and optimization of the manufacturing processes are critical such as Automotive, Aerospace, Fabrication & Assembly, Electrical & Electronics, Consumer Goods, Plant and Shipbuilding.
DELMIA constitutes the core offering of the Digital Manufacturing and Production, thus serving the product life cycle.
As part of the Dassault Systemes Group, DELMIA will develop long-term customer relationships, capitalizing on Dassault Systemes’ competitive strength and ability to build customers successful partnerships. The new company is extremely well positioned to leverage Dassault Systemes' best resources including expertise and know-how, infrastructure, components, and digital enterprise brands.
" 'Build-to-order' is key to Renault's development strategy. The deployment of this strategy will require technologies and methods to increase the agility of our production system. This is why we are pleased with Dassault Systemes’ commitment to e-Manufacturing, through the creation of DELMIA," commented François Pistre, Vice President for Technical and Scientific Computing, Renault.
"The capability to produce a large variety of products is a key to competitiveness in our truck business. Due to the flexible manufacturing processes it is absolutely necessary to use modern factory and robotics simulation tools. Processing a huge set of simulations allows us to validate our flexible production system. Therefore we do welcome the DELMIA creation and especially its strong emphasis on agile manufacturing definition," added Dr. Lothar Wissing, Manager Cab and Plant Equipment/Design and Manufacture, DaimlerChrysler Trucks.
"DELMIA is ideally positioned in Dassault Systemes to leverage Collaborative Product Commerce business practices (CPC) to implement Product Life Cycle Management (PLM)," added Bernard Charlès, President of Dassault Systemes. "It confirms Dassault Systemes as the right strategic partner for customers looking for Digital Manufacturing solutions and providing a complete integrated e-business solution with this new brand."
"DELMIA demonstrates the power of the Deneb, Safework and DELTA technologies, and how our products are extremely competitive," said Pascal Lecland, Director of R&D, Deneb. "Customers have already expressed their satisfaction on the combination of Deneb and DELTA products to benefit the Manufacturing Process planner community. We are, more than ever, committed to provide them the best products worldwide and serve their needs in an appropriate manner with DELMIA."
DELMIA has an open system, interoperable with major CAX, PDM and ERP systems.
Integrated with ENOVIA, it does provide a unique integrated manufacturing solution.
