Dassault Systemes Announces Spatial Now A Key Component of the 3D PLM Strategy

Spatial Becomes the Primary Channel for CAA V5 to Software Development Companies

 

Suresnes, France — May 30, 2002 — Dassault Systemes (Nasdaq : DASTY ; Euronext Paris : #13065, DSY.PA) today announced that Spatial Corp. (Spatial), a Dassault Systemes’ company, is now the primary channel for sales and marketing of V5 Component Application Architecture (CAA) to software developers. This announcement confirms Spatial’s key role in Dassault Systemes’ 3D Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) strategy.<br/>

 

 

Dassault Systemes acquired Spatial in November of 2000 and the current announcement is a natural evolution of the unit’s activities as a world-class provider of 3D components. To enable Spatial to deliver strong expertise in software development, Dassault Systemes put in place a world-class executive management team which implemented reliable processes, quality initiatives and V5 technologies. In less than 16 months Spatial achieved the goals set by Dassault Systemes, including delivering releases, which have been applauded by customers as the “best ever”, and working to implement industry-supported initiatives such as OpenHSF. Now, Spatial is extending its mission and its existing component solutions to address the 3D PLM market with the addition of CAA V5 and the open architecture components for CATIA, ENOVIA, and DELMIA.<br/>

 

 

CAA V5 is middleware which enables software developers to rapidly develop state-of-the-art V5 applications, integrated within multiple enterprise environments and complementing Dassault Systemes’ 3D PLM solutions. 3D PLM enables customers to optimize their business Processes for Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Support using Collaborative Workspaces to share a common product, process and resource (PPR) model. <br/>
