Alpine Mobile Media Solutions Expands PLM Strategy with Dassault Systèmes in China

ENOVIA SmarTeam for Collaborative Product Data Management

Dalian, China, December 12, 2006 - Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced that Alpine Mobile Media Solutions, an award-winning manufacturer of automotive entertainment, telematics and drive assistance components, expanded its PLM strategy to include DS’s collaborative product data management (PDM) solution, ENOVIA SmarTeam.  Alpine will use the solution with CATIA V5 for collaborative concurrent engineering between its China and Japan design sites, speeding product time-to-market and improving responsiveness to its leading automotive OEM customer base.

“We chose ENOVIA SmarTeam for its superior PDM functions and scalability.  Alpine required a solution that would seamlessly connect to CATIA (a user since 2002) and allow us to easily evolve our PLM strategy,” says Kazushige Ejiri, deputy general manager, Structural Product Development, Alpine Japan. Alpine holds eight R&D and nine production sites worldwide.  Deploying ENOVIA SmarTeam in preludes Alpine’s creation of unified PLM practices across its worldwide sites.

“Alpine’s incremental approach to global PLM allows it to build competencies regionally and accumulate best practices to then share with other sites,” says Denis Georgeon, general manager, DS PLM China.  “We are delighted to work together towards this goal, sharing DS’s best practices accumulated through 25 years of 3D PLM excellence.”

With DS solutions such as ENOVIA SmarTeam Design Express for Multi-CADs, CATIA PLM Express, etc., PLM solutions are accessible for companies of any size or industry.

In celebration of the successful China-Japan ENOVIA SmarTeam deployment, Alpine will hold an official production launch ceremony at its Da Lian, China ’R&D center on December 12.
