AgustaWestland Chooses V6 for Production and Supplier Collaboration Excellence

ENOVIA V6 and DELMIA V6’s Innovation and 3D Collaboration Capabilities Key to PLM Software Decision

MILAN, Italy, September 22, 2010 – Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, announced today that AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica Company, and worldwide leader in the design and construction of rotary wing aircraft, has chosen its ENOVIA V6 and DELMIA V6 PLM solutions to support its product development activities.

Dassault Systèmes’ V6 was chosen after a thorough comparative analysis of competing PLM technologies in the aerospace and defense industry. With ENOVIA V6 and DELMIA V6, AgustaWestland will benefit from the online environment to harmonize the activities of their various production facilities and as a future system for integrated product development.

“A strong point influencing our decision,” said Gianmario Prato, senior vice president, ICT, AgustaWestland, “was the greater efficiencies that a 3D world, powered by ENOVIA V6, can bring to our product development activities.”

This latest selection by AgustaWestland further strengthens the long successful relationship with Dassault Systèmes. Additionally, it will enable AgustaWestland to further improve its product development processes and enhance the sharing of information between the company, its suppliers and the various AgustaWestland centers of excellence.

“In addition to the winning technological comparison with competitors, a major factor was the joint sharing of both companies’ long-term plans,” said Philippe Forestier, executive vice president, Global Affairs, Dassault Systèmes.  “AgustaWestland and Dassault Systèmes relationship dates back to the 1990s.  We both believe in the power of innovation, and both understand the need for integrated collaboration within global, industry-leading companies.”
