OceanHub Africa is a pan-African ocean-impact catalyst dedicated to accelerating innovation and entrepreneurship in the blue economy.

Based in Cape Town, the organization partners with founders, investors, researchers, and ecosystem builders to support and scale sustainable ventures that protect and restore the health of Africa’s oceans while driving inclusive economic growth.

Through tailored acceleration programs, strategic mentorship, and access to capital and global networks, OceanHub Africa helps ocean-minded startups refine their solutions and expand into new markets.

Since 2020, OceanHub Africa has been an incubator partner of the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab, strengthening its ability to support high-impact ventures with advanced technological and innovation resources.

Beyond startup support, it fosters ecosystem development through industry leadership, strategic convenings, and capacity-building initiatives that advance sustainable ocean innovation across the continent.

OceanHub Africa and Captain Fanplastic collaborated after the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab hosted Mesmerise Paris, an inaugural event for the new FabLab in Vélizy. For every €10 registration fee, funds were allocated to support a workshop at Philippi Village in South Africa, where local youth and community members transformed plastic waste into tools for education, creativity, and action aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.  

Through hands-on learning and artistic expression, participants boosted ocean literacy, teamwork, and encouraged long-term engagement. Together with Dassault Systèmes, OceanHub Africa continues to raise awareness and inspire sustainable innovation in the next generation.
