Expands resources to address increasingly sophisticated customer requirements and rapid SMARTEAM growth
Paris, France – July 29, 2004 – Dassault Systèmes (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) today announced the creation of SMARTEAM Europe, a new business unit dedicated to the sales, marketing, technical support and service of its SMARTEAM Collaborative Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Solution in Europe.
Dassault Systèmes chose to strengthen its SmarTeam organization in order to address the growing diversity and sophistication of customer requirements, and to sustain strong market growth from its various sales channels. SMARTEAM Europe increases Dassault Systèmes’ SMARTEAM presence in Europe, and provides customers and resellers with greater reactivity and service.
SmarTeam Corporation Ltd., a Dassault Systèmes company, develops SMARTEAM for collaborative product data and lifecycle management. SMARTEAM Europe now supports IBM, its Business Partners, and a network of independent Value-Added Resellers, who actively sell SMARTEAM to customers in multiple industries.
Managed by Chris Jones, SMARTEAM Europe is part of Dassault Systèmes’ PLM Europe organization. It has offices in four countries and direct access to Dassault Systèmes’ Group R&D teams. In addition, a SMARTEAM service has also been created at Dassault Systèmes Services in order to accelerate product implementation in Europe through certified methodologies and project management.

SMARTEAM is used for diverse mission-critical applications among a community of more than 1,000 customers in Europe, of which:
