PLAST-MET

Serving some of the biggest car manufacturers in the world, PLAST-MET’s existing operations were not optimized to meet increasingly stringent Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) standards. It wanted to find a way to centralize its entire product development value chain to better deliver on these standards, while streamlining processes, improving internal and external collaboration, reducing errors in the design stage, and expediting time to market.

Having worked with Dassault Systèmes over the past five years to implement CATIA, DELMIA and ENOVIA, PLAST-MET was convinced about the capabilities of the 3DEXPERIENCE® platform. It adopted the industry solution Bid to Win to track, re-use and leverage existing data in a way that helps it to better meet APQP standards. Using an agile methodology, the solution was implemented in just three months, serving 80 users.

Thanks to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform’s central management dashboard, PLAST-MET now has increased control and visibility of its design and product data, which makes compliance with APQP standards more efficient and easier to demonstrate. The data is shared both internally among its project management, quality control and product engineering teams, and externally with OEMs, facilitating better collaboration and driving quality into PLAST-MET’s products and processes. Engineers also have access to tools which allow them to create 3D geometry without limitation. All this helps PLAST-MET to reduce costly errors and expedite the launch of new products, with the same human resources.
