Jose Carlos de Souza Jr, Dean of IMT, recalls how the partnership with Dassault Systèmes began back in 2012. Initially, the partnership focused on technical tools. Today, with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the Dean looks forward to taking it to the next level. He explains how the platform gives his students the ability to integrate diverse knowledge and tackle complex problems, and we get to see students doing just that.
Professor David explains how the platform is a unique resource thanks to its single interface, and how students quickly grasp all the project and management cycles – from design through production. What’s more, the interface’s high level of flexibility ensures seamless integration with existing systems and eliminates the need to use multiple software.
David and his students are working on various kinds of projects to contribute to society at large. He believes it’s an educator’s job to pass on to students the importance of benefitting society. For instance, students are developing skateboards for a Municipal Daycare Center. David and his students have also partnered with other universities in Colombia and Peru to develop hip prosthetics.
Ana Luiza, a student at IMT, talks about how the 3DEXPERIENCE platform has helped with her degree project, which is building a prototype of a boat. She’s been discovering how the platform can strengthen her engineering skills, and how constant interaction boosts teamwork.
Rafael Elias knows that this collaborative interface is widely used in industry, and that it really helps students like him become more industry-ready than ever.
Instituto Maua de Technolgia (IMT) is a private nonprofit learning institute in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Founded in 1960, IMT was initially an engineering school that today offers nine specialties, as well as courses in management, design, and information sciences. There are currently 2,500 undergraduates and 500 graduate students enrolled at IMT. Through world-class technical instruction and advanced research programs, the school’s mission is to help produce the next generation of highly qualified students to contribute to the socio-economic development of Brazil.
