User Assistance Developer (Technical Writer)

As a User Assistance Developer (Technical Writer) for the SIMULIA brand, you will apply your technical and communication skills to create user assistance (UA) to support a new generation of engineering applications.

Engineers and designers use our simulation software in complex, collaborative engineering workflows. They solve engineering problems, explore design alternatives to improve their products, and imagine innovative solutions in a wide variety of industries including aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, clean energy, and healthcare.

Our UA challenge is to help both highly skilled simulation analysts and designers learn and use our simulation solutions to complete their end-to-end workflows. You will have the opportunity to learn about SIMULIA simulation applications (https://www.3ds.com/products-services/simulia/) from a user’s perspective, through hands-on experience with the software. You will own the overall product documentation for your subject areas and ensure that the quality, technical accuracy, and customer focus are maintained in your deliverables.

·       Understand SIMULIA apps and become the documentation expert for the SIMULIA software subject areas to which you are assigned.

·       Gather technical information through hands-on software testing, reviewing specifications, and meeting with subject matter experts and other stakeholders.

·       Write and edit user guides, as well as in-app user assistance (for example, tooltips, diagnostic messages, and guided tours) and videos.

·       Develop and document industry-based engineering examples and tutorials.

·       Write documentation in XML format using industry-standard tools.

·       Design and implement information architecture projects.

·       Define, prototype, and deliver new user assistance delivery mechanisms.

·       Define and leverage user assistance analytics data to capture user goals and expectations and work to ensure the user assistance delivered meets users’ needs.

·       Use SIMULIA products regularly and provide usability feedback.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Required Skills:

·       Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

·       Experience writing end-user technical documentation is a plus

·       Ability to explain complex engineering applications to users.

·       Passion for combining engineering, teaching, and helping others.

·       Ability to work with users and product managers to understand engineering and business requirements.

·       Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that demands continuous, independent learning about highly technical subjects.

·       Knowledge of Abaqus/CAE or any FEA software is a plus.

What’s in it for you:

The candidate will work from the Pune lab in a highly technical, collaborative, and fast-paced environment with software developers, QA engineers, UX experts, product managers, and support engineers located across Dassault Systèmes offices in Europe, the Americas, and India.
