Electromagnetic Analysis with Abaqus
This course is presented in two lecture sessions from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. CT; lectures and demos will be presented by the instructor during this time. There is a one-hour break in the middle of each lecture session (12:30 - 1:30 p.m. CT). The workshop sessions are conducted offline with technical support provided by SIMULIA Central via email and telephone from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. CT.

Abaqus provides computational electromagnetic capabilities for the simulation of problems involving steady-state electrical conduction, piezoelectric phenomena, and low-frequency eddy currents. In this course, you will learn how to analyze low frequency eddy current problems in Abaqus/Standard. The topics covered in the course include:
Introduction to electromagnetic theory
Workflow for defining low-frequency eddy current analyses
Loads and boundary conditions required for eddy current analyses
Postprocessing eddy current analyses
Sequential coupling for thermal-stress analyses
Who Should Attend
The course is recommended for engineers with experience using Abaqus/Standard. Some familiarity with the Abaqus keywords interface is helpful but not required.
The registration cost for this course is $580. We offer sizable discounts for group registrations from the same site†. The table below lists the discount pricing schedule. Registrations after April 3, 2012 will incur an additional processing fee of $50 per person. SIMULIA Central reserves the right to decline registrations received after the deadline.
Attendee[s] per site
Cost per person
$480 per additional registration
$380 per additional registration
$280 per additional registration
†Above discounts apply to attendees registering together on one registration form and providing one form of payment.
Academic Discount A discounted registration fee of $200 is offered to all academic institutions on a space available basis. This discount cannot be combined with the multiple attendee discount. The registrations with the academic discount will not include workshop support.
What is Included
Electronic copies of the training notes will be provided to each registrant for their personal use. Every registrant will also receive a copy of Abaqus Student Edition. Many of the topics covered in this course can be practiced using Abaqus Student Edition; however, to ensure that you can perform all the course workshops fully, you will need access to a licensed copy of Abaqus. No additional Abaqus licenses will be provided.
