Background

When a Task Plan is created using the “Create” function of a Task Planner section in Notebook, version 2020 and higher, the new Task Plan will have an external reference to the Notebook experiment. Due to a known issue in Foundation Hub 2021 SP1 and 2022, Samples cannot be created for the Task Plan when this external reference is present.

This known issue in Foundation Hub is scheduled to be fixed in Foundation Hub 2022 HF1.

Workaround

Use Foundation Hub 2021 with Notebook 2021 and 2022, including all related Service Packs.

Do not use Foundation Hub 2021 SP1 or 2022 with Notebook 2020, including all related Service Packs.

When creating a new Task Plan, do not use the "Create" function of the Task Planner section in Notebook. Instead, create the Task Plan using the "My Task Plans" widget in the Foundation Hub web client, then use the "Import" function of the Task Planner section in Notebook to add a reference to the Task Plan. Sample creation will then work as expected but the Task Plan will not have a reference to the Notebook Experiment.
