Description

We are providing this Technical Note to inform you about the release of BIOVIA Notebook 2020 SP2 HF3 that includes the following fixed issues:

Fixed Defects

CELN-11505 – The Desktop Connector installer has been modified to prevent premature exit caused by Windows Defender.

CELN-11498– The detection of installed applications by the Desktop Connector has been modified, to avoid that the process hangs if Power Point doesn't close normally.

CELN-11449– The Desktop Connector can detect browser versions when they are installed for current user, rather than all users, on a Windows system.

CELN-11447– The Power Point section works also when the Desktop Connector runs in Legacy Mode.

CELN-11440– Adding a reagent or solvent lacking a chemical structure shows the name rather than No Structure. This was a regression in Notebook 2020 SP2.

CELN-11426– Correction of the calculation behavior in the Reaction section: Manually entered values are preserved when recalculation is triggered by a change in the amount of limiting reactant. Manually entered values are preserved in calculations using the Volume/Molarity and Volume/Density/Purity models when molecular weight has not been specified.

CELN-11424– If a Chromium based version of Edge is used Notebook is now connected to Edge rather than Chrome.

CELN-11423– The TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 protocols are enabled in Desktop Connector Legacy mode.

CELN-11422– Section permissions for users and groups in ElnAdminWeb have been corrected for certain cases when permissions are inherited from several groups. The properties were incorrectly displayed, but the underlying database permissions were correct also before this fix.

CELN-11421– The jQuery library has been updated to version 3.5.1.

CELN-11420– Disclosure of server details that could help an attacker can be reduced by configuration of the IIS. The recommended settings are described in the Installation section of the Product Release Document.

CELN-11419– File types can be blocked for upload to the File Attachment section. By default the pkg, dll, bat, reg, cmd, exe and msi types are blocked.

CELN-11425– The Sign Next feature of the counter signing page now works for IE11.
