Description

We are providing this Technical Note to inform you about the release of BIOVIA Draw 2023, which includes the following:  

Enhancements

DRAW-10946 - There is now an option to use right-click and choose Mixed, which sets stereo to Mixed

DRAW-11596 - Draw now allows resizing of the POL atom object

DRAW-11927 - When the "Esc" key is pressed, Draw cancels all selections and switches to the Lasso tool

DRAW-12120 - Fixed an issue where an atom would become labeled as "Unnamed" after editing, typing a new name, and then deleting. The tool now reverts to the original atom type

DRAW-12846 - You now have the option to edit the atom when hovering over an expanded sequence

DRAW-13659 - Draw now supports the depiction of HCl and H2O with the hydrogens before the other atoms by default

DRAW-14764 - The "Query bond type" menu item in the Bond Property dialog now has an "Off" option to reset the query bond type. Previously, the query bond type could only be reset by removing all bond properties

DRAW-14780 - Modified the way Draw generates InChI string. Added additional user preferences "InChI Writer Option" and "InChI Stereo Flag" when generating InChI string

DRAW-15314 - Draw documentation has been updated to describe the workflow for placing vertical brackets for a structure

DRAW-15315 - Extended the All Purpose drawing tool to create a bond when you click on any atom

DRAW-15317 - Improved usability for flipping molecules horizontally and vertically

DRAW-15422 - Draw now displays MolFormula for structures with repeating Units

DRAW-15489 - Draw now supports drawing homology queries

DRAW-15568 - Updated Calculator dialog to show the IUPAC name along with other properties

DRAW-15576 - Two sequences linked by their terminal residues are fused into one sequence

DRAW-15805 - Draw now interprets a data sgroup named "SMMX:VLine" the same way as it would a V2000 "V" line entry, by appending the data value to the specified atom's label

DRAW-16203 - When deleting a single object from a set of grouped objects, use the lasso tool to select the structure, then press Delete from keyboard

DRAW-17103 - The Central Library dialog now supports the "Library Scope" parameter where you can select the type of library to connect to

DRAW-17132 - A calculation of the InChI Key from the 'Chemistry > Generate Text from Structure > InChI Key' menu no longer triggers an immediate search with the generated InChI Key in www.chemspider.com. Instead, a dialog is displayed that allows the user to initiate the search for this particular InChI Key calculation, and additionally set search options for future calculations of the InChI Key. Additionally, the search is now sent to https://www.chemspider.com rather than www.chemspider.com

DRAW-17150 - User can now save the content from multiple tabs as an SD file from Draw

DRAW-17172 - You can now edit output in the results text box from Run Pipeline Pilot protocol dialog

DRAW-17237 - Added a new feature to perform text or structure search for all sequence templates available in Draw

DRAW-17270 - Enhanced the Central Library dialog to allow rearranging items in the grid, sorting on columns, and clearing locally downloaded templates

DRAW-17271 - Added a new preference setting to apply the side chain orientation while expanding the sequence residues

DRAW-17310 - Added support for modifying DNA/RNA templates with SUGAR templates which have only two attachment points

DRAW-17412 - Updated criteria for enclosing text fields within double quotes when writing in V3000 molfiles when any of these characters appear in the text: space, quote, double-quote, equal sign, left parenthesis and right parenthesis

DRAW-17445 - Draw can depict custom enhanced stereochemistry labels for M and P atropisomers

DRAW-17130 - Added support of half reagents for reactions in Draw

Fixed Defects

DRAW-17289 - Draw sets the Chiral flag when shortcut keys w/h are keyed on a bond

DRAW-17304 - Draw no longer crashes while trying to create an attachment with single atom

DRAW-17348 - Draw invoked from a desktop application will not lose the focus while setting Stereo Chemistry or while using the Atom Tool

DRAW-17377 - Fixed an issue with structures generated from IUPAC names when the M/P stereo preference was on where the display was incorrect and they could not be edited

DRAW-17413 - Fixed issue where Data sgroups were always saved in V3000 format

DRAW-17461 - Fixed issue where clipboard contents could affect the generation of structures from IUPAC names

DRAW-17473 - Fixed a misplacement issue with M/P Stereo centers for Biphenyl rings with Enhanced SMILES

DRAW-15154 - Draw no longer moves the structure around the canvas after the clean operation with sequences

DRAW-15318 - The Clean tool now sets the standard Atom label size after the clean operation

DRAW-17001 - Fixed an issue where P was converted to M for axial stereo centers when generating structures from SMILES

DRAW-17079 - Fixed issue where sequence chains would break when the N-Terminal residue was modified

DRAW-17090 - Fixed issue where N-terminal modification on Cys would move to the side-chain

DRAW-17104 - Fixed issue where structures generated from Structure resolver dialog could not be edited

DRAW-17107 - Pipette sketcher dialog no longer throws an error while attempting to login with an expired password

DRAW-17176 - Fixed an issue that occurred when copying as a molfile and then using the Ctrl+Alt+V shortcut to paste

DRAW-17230 - Draw now uses the https URL by default for connecting to the Pipeline Pilot server (for example, https://localhost:9943)

DRAW-17241 - Fixed an issue where clicking a template icon to open the template editor dialog, and then closing would cause the icon to have reduced quality

DRAW-17247 - Draw now generates the correct structure with stereoinformation from InChI strings

DRAW-17263 - Draw now properly displays ABS labels at stereo centers

DRAW-17370 - The Alignment tool now correctly spaces structures that are surrounded by square brackets

DRAW-17439 - Draw main window and toolbar icons are now positioned correctly when the application loads

DRAW-17444 - Draw now aligns the reagent text with Reaction arrow

DRAW-17459 - Draw no longer crashes while updating the properties of the custom sequence templates

DRAW-17460 - Draw no longer crashes while creating the SCSR templates. These templates will always be saved in V3000 format

DRAW-17470 - Fixed an issue where enhanced stereo information was lost for molecules with axial stereo centers during a Molecule To Smiles and Molecule From Smiles round trip
