T36-2019 BIOVIA Discoverant: AG Create - Creating an Analysis Group (AG) with a Parameter Set Restriction on a Hierarchy Derived Parameter or a Parameter Set Restriction on more than one parameter in an AG can yield incorrect data for the Hierarchy Derived

Background

Two separate use cases have been identified that manifest the same root cause for this bug. The first case exists when an AG is created with a Parameter Set restriction on a Hierarchy Derived Parameter.  In this case, if the AG contains other derived parameters that depend on more than one source parameter, these derived parameters may yield incorrect data.  The second case exists when an AG is created with more than one Parameter Set restriction on any parameters within the AG.  In this case, if the AG contains other derived parameters that depend on more than one source parameter, these derived parameters may yield incorrect data.

Solution

Suggested Temporary Workaround: The issue may occur on any AG containing a Hierarchy Derived Parameter where a Parameter Set Restriction has been placed on another Hierarchy Derived Parameter or multiple Source Parameters. The recommendation is to avoid the use of Parameter Set Restrictions on Hierarchy Derived Parameters or multiple Source parameters when other Hierarchy Derived Parameters are included in the AG, i.e. prior to updating to BIOVIA Discoverant 2018 SP1 HF2 or higher.

Fix in Code: The Defect has been tracked as DISCO-17778 and will be marked as fixed in the BIOVIA Discoverant 2018 SP1 HF2 release.
