Description

BIOVIA Materials Studio 2022 has dependencies on libraries provided by the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages 2015-2022 (or 2015-2019).

You can check whether these are already installed on your machine before installing Materials Studio. In the list of installed programs and features, check for the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 (or 2015-2019) Redistributable entries, as shown in the PDF version link below.

If these packages are not installed on your Windows machine, see the resolution steps below for instructions on how to install them.

Without these packages, the installation of Materials Studio stops prematurely with an Error 1722 Windows Installer package message (see the PDF link below for the full message).

In addition, when you open BIOVIA License Administrator 2022 you receive an error message that MSVCP140_1.dll was not found.

Resolution

If you encounter this behavior, you must install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages and run the Materials Studio installer again.

To install the Microsoft Redistributable packages for Materials Studio 2022, do the following:

1. Open a web browser and enter the address:
   https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170#visual-studio-2015-2017-2019-and-2022
2. Download and run the x86 installer:
   https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe
3. Download and run the x64 installer:
   https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

After performing these installations, run the Materials Studio installer again. You do not need to reinstall the License Pack.
