T118-2023 Notification Regarding the Release of BIOVIA Direct 2024

DIR-4283

BIOVIA Direct has been tested with Amazon RDS Custom. As a result of this testing, BIOVIA supports installation and execution of BIOVIA Direct in an Amazon RDS Custom environment.    As with standard on-premises or VM deployments of BIOVIA Direct, support is limited to the BIOVIA Direct portion of the Amazon RDS Custom environment. BIOVIA does not provide direct technical support for the installation, configuration or ongoing use of the Amazon RDS Custom environment. The affected Amazon RDS Custom environment must be running supported versions of prerequisite software as specified in the BIOVIA Direct System Requirements documents.  Note that Amazon RDS Custom must not be confused with Amazon RDS. As reported before, BIOVIA Direct cannot be installed and executed in an Amazon RDS environment due to technical limitations of the Amazon RDS architecture.

DIR-4271

A new flag, ENHANCEDSTEREOSMI, is added that controls the reading and writing of SMILES from molecules with enhanced stereochemistry in the current Oracle session. The new flag complements the eponymous global property that was introduced with Direct 2023.  When the flag is set, operators and functions that read and write SMILES will consider the SMILES enhanced stereochemistry extensions. When the flag is unset, operators and functions that read SMILES will ignore existing extensions. Also, operators and functions that write SMILES will return NULL if the input molecule includes enhanced stereochemistry. This resembles the default behavior of Direct 2023 and earlier.  

DIR-4240

Fixed an issue where the Direct mol() operator fails to parse a particular IUPAC name correctly.

DIR-4275

Fixed an issue where a query in Direct with a non-expanded AC peptide found the AC nucleotide as well as the AC peptide, expanded or not.

DIR-4269

Markush structures with the R-group(s) directly attached to a Markush bond can now be registered with BIOVIA Direct.

DIR-4279

The Direct example databases DCSAMPLES are now delivered without Direct domain indexes. Instead, the indexes are created as part of the DCSAMPLES installation. The documentation in the Direct Installation Guides and the readme_dcsamples.txt file is updated accordingly.

DIR-4285

Fixed an issue where AND enantiomer query of one atropisomer stereo center matched a structure with undefined stereo in substructure search.

DIR-4321

Direct now throws an unambiguous error message when a molecule or reaction with query features is passed to operators other than SSS or RSS.

DIR-4293

A distorting typo in the description of the NORESUME option of the MDLAUX.RECREATEFASTSEARCH procedure was fixed in the BIOVIA Direct Administration Guide.
