It is now possible to define Commands that create measurements from the Class Reading model. A command may be used by many compatible equipment types. Class reading commands apply to direct connect and file equipment. Advanced direct connect utilizing the class reading model are now configured in the same manner as other direct connect and can have up to 50 steps in each command.

Equipment types can be configured to use Commands based on the Class Reading model. When so configured, their equipment can produce measurements based on the Class Reading model. Equipment types can be configured to support both Data Packet and Class Reading models simultaneously.

Class Readings are a new model for managing equipment reference data. Equipment Classes can have a set of Class Readings, which are the list of readings that class can produce. Each Class Reading is linked to a Parameter Template to constrain the data it can contain.

In this model, Commands are used to create measurements and each command links back to the equipment class and its set of Class Readings. This improves data consistency and re-use.

Updated the equipment pages in Admin & Settings to improve usability and streamline administration. The "Equipment Commands" and "Equipment Work Items" links have moved from the Equipment page to the main menu under Resources. Command editing has been enhanced to include assignment of equipment types and to default new Readings to the name of their Class Readings.
