Background

Adlib PDF is a rendering solution that integrates with the EDMS applications (DocCompliance/MyQUMAS). The third-party integration is extensively used during the document pdf rendering and document printing functions within EDMS. The following versions of Adlib 6.x have been certified with EDMS

*Requiers Internet Explorer 11 & Microsoft Silverlight

The third-party vendor has announced the retirement of all Adlib 6.x version prior to Adlib 6.5.1 with these versions reaching their End of Life on 31/12/2022. The vendor has confirmed that Extended Support will be provided until 31/12/2023 at which point support for these products will cease.

The latest version of the integrated rendering solution is Adlib 6.5.1 and this has been certified with ENOVIA QUMAS R2023x, released in Q4 2022. Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Silverlight are not required for Adlib 6.5.1

All Adlib version prior to 6.5.1 require Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Silverlight both of which have now been retired by Microsoft due to their security vulnerabilities. Any client that is currently using these products will need to retain Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Silverlight on all rendering servers for the rendering solution to function.

Solution

BIOVIA Support recommends that any client running EDMS versions pre R2023x (DocCompliance 4.12 / MyQUMAS 5.6) upgrade to R2023x or later before 31/12/2023. Please contact your Account Executive to discuss upgrading to the latest version.

Any client that has recently upgraded and is running a version of ENOVIA QUMAS that has not yet reached its Full Support end date per the DS Lifecycle policy can upgrade to Adlib 6.5.1. The Support Lifecycle policies can be accessed from  https://media.3ds.com/support/DS_LifeCycleInformation.pdf  (See section 19 ENOVIA QUMAS) Please contact your Account Executive to discuss upgrading the Adlib rendering integration piece on a version of ENOVIA QUMAS that has not reached its Full support end date.
