Background
Microsoft has announced that support for Microsoft Office 2016 and Microsoft Office 2019 has ended on October 14, 2025. There will be no extension and no extended security updates provided after this date. See Microsoft’s official statement for further details.
This change impacts the ENOVIA QUMAS EDMS application in the following areas:
EDMS AutoPopulation
EDMS provides an AutoPopulation feature that leverages Microsoft Word to update bookmarks in documents during the document check-in and release stages. The Microsoft Word application is installed on the AutoPopulation/Compare Server.
EDMS Rendering
Native documents are converted to PDF using Adlib PDF, a third-party rendering integration. Adlib relies on the native Microsoft Office application installed on the Rendering Server.
The table below outlines the supported combinations of QUMAS, Adlib, and Microsoft Office versions:

* Releases prior to R2022 are no longer supported and customers should contact their Account Executive regarding an upgrade. Refer to the DS Product Lines Releases Support Lifecycle Dates to check end support dates for R2022 and higher.
** Adlib 6.5.1 does not support Microsoft Office versions later than 2019. The latest version of the integrated rendering solution, Adlib Transform 2025, is certified with ENOVIA QUMAS R2026x, released on October 31, 2025.
Solution
This information is provided to help customers assess the impact of Microsoft’s end of support for Office 2016 and 2019 on their internal security and compliance policies.
While existing ENOVIA QUMAS EDMS releases using Adlib 6.5.1 will continue to function as designed, the underlying Microsoft Office versions will no longer receive security updates or vendor support after October 14, 2025.
BIOVIA Support recommends upgrading to ENOVIA QUMAS EDMS R2026x or higher, which integrates Adlib Transform 2025 and supports Microsoft Office 2021 for both Rendering and Bookmark AutoPopulation functions. Please contact your Account Executive to discuss upgrade options and ensure continued security compliance alignment.
