Enhancements

This release of BIOVIA Compose and Capture includes the following enhancements.

User StoryDescription
CAPT-5481You now have support to execute tasks from the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
CAPT-6404In Form View, you can now abandon a step or sample and unabandon a sample.
CAPT-6436As an author, you can now define an activity to be initiated from Capture Hub steps so that analysts can create new tasks.
CAPT-7301As a reviewer, you can now apply "Not Valid" to filter the parameters and quickly see ones with validities other than "Valid".
CAPT-7495For process execution, the browser tab titles no longer state 'BIOVIA:' in the title, so there is more space to display relevant information. For example, the Task ID and the Task Name.
CAPT-7511When you collapse the filter tab in Review, the filter icons still display.
CAPT-7610When parsed and scaled from the values in the Study Workflow, the Formulation task amounts use the precision, format, and rounding rules defined in the Simple Batch activity.
CAPT-7946In the Review page, the filters have been reordered and categorized into two groups with labels: Label: Potential Exceptions * Abandoned * Confirm Override * Data Modification * Expired Material * Manual Override * Material Substitution * Observation Exists * Out of Limit * Procedure Modification Label: Normal Events * Calculate Value * Data Entry * Data Verification * Instrument Value * Linked Task * Manual Entry * Material Inventory * Protocol * Sample Property
CAPT-8234Auto release now checks for equipment signatures for GMP task executions.
CAPT-8531Formulation tasks now have phase instructions that display above the Phase Name.
CAPT-8544For tasks in a Formulation workflow, you can now enter an Observation (text and associated files) in the Parameters card.
CAPT-8706To lessen confusion, the "Allowed Expire" and "Lifecycle Policy" columns are no longer available in the Material card in process execution (Capture) and Task Plan.
CAPT-8726An Out of limits signature for Formulation tasks is only applied to the latest value, so intermediate measurements (as for multiple containers of the same material) do not trigger signature events.
CAPT-8903This feature allows you to more easily see and determine the start and stop of each step in the continuous grid.
PROP-10896All Compose reports now exist as Pipeline Pilot reports registered in Admin & Settings > Pipeline Pilot Protocols.  This replaces the Compose Manage>Reports interface.
PROP-11177The older versions of recipes that are specifically "Superseded" or "Withdrawn" now migrate.
PROP-11270As an author, you can now map parameters to extended properties on equipment, such that values on those properties are automatically populated during execution.
PROP-11339As an activity author, you can now easily compare two different activities on the same system, or two different versions of the same activity.
PROP-11380With the move to Compose Hub, the Recipe Details view has been redesigned; some fields in the details view are now hidden.
PROP-11425The older versions of recipes that are specifically "Superseded" or "Withdrawn" now migrate.
PROP-11427As a Compose author, you can now select in a recipe whether a specific activity is available for analysts to initiate from a given step.
PROP-11428A new check box on process element activities will allow users to select if they would like to use with initiate task on this specific activity when executing in Capture Hub.
PROP-11503Compose Process Element Templates can now be created, edited, and managed within Foundation.
PROP-11790The separate Compose service is now read-only after the upgrade to 2024 SP1.  Recipes are only readable in Compose Hub.
PROP-11883A Post-Migration report informs administrators which recipes were included in the migration.
PROP-11901A Pre-Migration report  is provided to alert administrators which recipes, either Classic Capture recipes or recipes without activities, will not be migrated prior to upgrading and migrating to Compose Hub. This report MUST be run before the 2024 SP1 upgrade, and appropriate action must be taken to preserve any non-migrating recipes that are important to an organization.
PROP-11953The Recipe Comparison, IOQ, and Approval reports now include linked activities.
PROP-12030When you clone a procedure activity associated with a Classic Capture recipe, a new execution recipe is created with the same method ID + [1].
PROP-4436You can now export and import Compose Process Element Templates between systems.
PROP-4437You can now export and import Compose Process Element Templates between systems.
PROP-5570A method is provided to migrated Process Elements from standalone Compose to Compose Hub in the same environment.
CAPT-5683During execution, you must sign for the action if you change the validity and a signature policy is set for 'Validity Change' in the task's Life Cycle Policy.
CAPT-6785You can now see the username of the last user to update a process execution, and the date of the update. As the current user, a warning now displays when you open an "In Progress" process execution that the last user updated.
CAPT-8162You can now click "Sign for Sample" to sign for individual samples.
CAPT-8198When you review tasks, you can now see the Task ID and Task Name in the browser tabs to identify the tasks more clearly.
CAPT-8389As a procedure author, you can use the linked task feature of Compose and add a parent activity as the source activity for parameters, but have any task made from any child activity of that parent work for linked tasks during process execution (Capture).
CAPT-8468The Session Information section in Review now displays an 'Initiated Tasks' field, which shows all the tasks an analyst started in the current execution.
CAPT-8527The Simple Batch recipe's structure now reflects the "ingredient action" workflow for Formulation Design.
CAPT-8535For Formulation tasks, you can now click a step in the batch grid to open the Parameters card. You can edit the selected step in Vertical View.
CAPT-8536Whenever you update the related values in the Parameters card, the material amount's values update in the grid.
CAPT-8702Executed tasks are now linkable to a previously run task in your collaborative space, independent of who ran that task. You now have flexibility to follow a broad range of workflows to either import tasks assigned to you from other collaborative spaces, or to import unassigned tasks from different collaborative spaces but in the same requested group as yours (if the requested group is defined).
CAPT-8529When you execute Formulation tasks, the Material card now displays and calculates the material total.
CAPT-8548For Formulation tasks, you can now click "Next" in the side panel for better navigation.
CAPT-8800When you transition a task's Current State to Correction Needed, Abandon, or Complete, a signature dialog for multiple signatures displays if these actions have a multi-signer policy. The signature dialog shows the number of signatures provided and the required signers.
PROP-10721Recipes that have General and GxP workflows will be migrated to Compose Hub in this release, but will be switched to the Activity Driven Workflow (ADW). Only ADW is supported going forward.
CAPT-8559You can now track the review status of Related and Initiated tasks together (Combined Review), so you do not miss tasks that require review.
CAPT-8560In the Review's "Related Tasks" section, you can now select and release multiple tasks with a single signature.
CAPT-9359For any metrology verification related to a task under review, any manual edits to that verification event that generate a logbook entry prevents the automated release process from proceeding. The failure notification message reads: 'The most recent metrology verification event has been manually modified. Equipment: [barcode].
PROP-11075The data for recipes in Compose is migrated into Foundation with the upgrade to 2024 SP1. The structure of the data does not change, and the methods themselves do not change.
CAPT-8556When you execute a Formulation task, it displays in a continuous grid rather than as multiple, individual steps so that you can read all the phases and steps.

Fixed Defects

This release of BIOVIA Compose and Capture includes the following fixed defects.

DefectDescription
CAPT-8712If the inventory does not find the material name, the user interface now attempts to register it a second time (with "searchSynonym=true"), instead of showing the first error then stopping.
CAPT-9187For data acquisition tasks only, the existing data fields are ignored so that, as an analyst, you can pull reference ontology entries from an activity parameter. This is an updates CAPT-8678.
PROP-11211When you remove a sample, it no longer affects the sample mappings that use that sample's properties on other steps.
PROP-11685Cloned Procedure Activities now retain all types of parameter mappings.
CAPT-7686When the parameter is mapped to both the equipment for collection and the material for registration, the equipment's collected value shows as expected in the Review page and the Report.
CAPT-7758During a new session, the recalculated planned value on an instrument-collected parameter still causes Classic Capture to also recollect the actual value with the previous value and prompt for any necessary signatures. The parameter's 'Last Updated' field in Review changes. The 'Full Name' field changes if a different user clicked "Done". However, the "How" and "Barcode" fields now point to the relevant equipment.
CAPT-7824To provide you with multiple measurements for the same equipment, the endpoint now returns an equipment logbook that is unique by measurement, and not by equipment.
CAPT-8063In the Review page, the Data Modification audit history shows the updated text with signature details as expected.

CAPT-8270If "Use Current Task Plan" is selected, when the tasks are created in a separate Task Plan, assigned, and imported into a new Task Plan before execution, the tasks now show up as expected in the Link Task modal.
CAPT-8288The Equipment and Manual Entry icons display when you use Manual Entry to collect equipment-mapped parameter values using File, Direct, and Not Connected equipment instances. The Manual override icon is displayed for all except for the Not Connect type equipment value collection. The How is "Manual Entry" and the supporting data link is "View" which navigates to the Equipment logbook entry as expected from Review for all the equipment instances.

CAPT-8999You can no longer change the validity to a session if it is opened by multiple users, and one of the users completes the session. The other users receive an error message, which tells them that the session's state is not 'In Progress.'
CAPT-9009The update view API handles concurrent calls better and no longer causes an error.
PROP-11236If you remove a recipe material or a material from a process step, all mappings to that material are consistently removed. This includes multiple material mappings on or across recipe steps.
PROP-11246If you remove a recipe material or a material from a process step, all mappings to that material are consistently removed. This includes multiple material mappings on or across recipe steps.
PROP-11261When you map to equipment with an unmatching unit type, the user interface no longer freezes or becomes unusable. The mapping is highlighted, which indicates the incompatible parameter unit type.
PROP-11273The user interface no longer freezes when mapping an Equipment mapping parameter that uses the default unit.
PROP-11282The sample mapping properties now render consistently in the user interface when you click through the process elements.
