We are providing this Technical Note to inform you about the release of BIOVIA Direct 2025. It includes the following enhancements and fixed defects.
Enhancements
This release of BIOVIA Direct includes the following enhancements.

| DIR-3470 | Search for double bonds that contain enhanced representation for geometric isomers is supported for both, SSS and Flexmatch, operators. |
| DIR-4160 | The MDLAUX.IUPACNAMETOMOLFILE function now provides an option to specify the language, namestyle and charset values for the input IUPAC name. The documentation is updated accordingly. |
| DIR-4338 | As of Direct version 2025, the global property ENHANCEDSTEREOSMI is now set to TRUE by default. Supplementary to this, the ENHANCEDSTEREOSMI flag now supports three states, DEFAULT, TRUE, and FALSE. |
| DIR-4398 | A new option, StereoCalculationTimeout, has been added to the molimage and rxnimage operators and the mdlaux.molimage and mdlaux.rxnimage functions. It sets the timeout for the stereo chemistry calculation when the DisplayRS option is set to TRUE. The default timeout is 5 seconds. |
Fixed Defects
This release of BIOVIA Direct includes the following fixed defects.

| DIR-4397 | The 'molimage' and 'rxnimage' operators and the mdlaux.molimage and mdlaux.rxnimage functions no longer return an ORA-28579 error when the DisplayRS option is set to TRUE but the stereo chemistry calculation times out. Instead, the image without stereo labels is returned. |
| DIR-4278 | Fixed an issue where the creation of fastsearch index data failed for certain polymers with brackets and four crossing bonds. |
| DIR-4372 | In the Direct Administration Guide, the description of the Direct Global Environment parameter RXNCTRKEYDEFS has been moved from the mdlaux.setenvfile() function to the mdlaux.getenvfile() function. |
