Industry Process Consultant- BIOVIA/LIMS
We are looking for a skilled Method Developer to join our team and contribute to laboratory process digitalization, recipe authoring, and configuration using BIOVIA applications. The ideal candidate will have a background in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Chemistry, along with hands-on experience in LIMS and a strong understanding of analytical laboratory processes.
In this role, you will work on developing and managing digital recipes, standardizing recipe templates, configuring data, validating applications, and supporting integrations with laboratory and process systems.
This position requires close collaboration with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver effective solutions for pharmaceutical and life sciences environments.
Role Description & Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, and manage digital recipes based on laboratory and business requirements.
- Support laboratory process digitalization and improve existing workflows.
- Create, maintain, and standardize recipe templates to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Configure application data, parameters, and workflows based on project requirements.
- Support integration of recipes and laboratory applications with relevant process systems.
- Perform application validation, functional testing, and troubleshooting to ensure solution quality.
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure adherence to applicable compliance and quality standards.
- Support cross-system integration between laboratory applications and other enterprise systems.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve application-related issues and provide ongoing functional support.
- Prepare reports and perform data analysis to support process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Understand analytical laboratory processes and techniques, including UV, HPLC, LC-MS, and GC-MS.
- Understand the application of analytical equipment used in pharmaceutical companies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and management to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Manage multiple tasks and project deliverables while ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines.
- Provide regular project updates, communicate challenges proactively, and coordinate with stakeholders across teams and time zones.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline, such as B. Pharm., Biotechnology, or M.Sc. in Chemistry.
- Minimum 2+ years of industry experience in IT, Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, or Healthcare.
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
- Hands-on experience with BIOVIA applications such as OneLab, CISPro, Pipeline Pilot, Workbook, and Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN).
- Sound knowledge of analytical sciences and laboratory processes.
- Understanding of analytical laboratory techniques and equipment, including UV, HPLC, LC-MS, and GC-MS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to support global teams across different time zones when required, while maintaining reasonable working hours.
Must Have
- Experience in recipe authoring, recipe management, and template standardization.
- Experience in laboratory process digitalization and workflow configuration.
- Familiarity with application validation, testing, and technical documentation.
- Experience with laboratory application integration and cross-system workflows.
- Team leadership experience.
- Experience working with pharmaceutical laboratory systems and regulated environments.
Good to have
- Proficiency in Java and JavaScript for backend development and application logic.
- Strong experience with Angular and TypeScript for frontend development and dynamic UI creation.
- Knowledge of RDF for semantic data modeling, querying (SPARQL), and knowledge graph implementation.
- Familiarity with Generative AI (Gen AI) tools and frameworks for automating workflows and enhancing data-driven insights.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture for platform integration.
- Understanding of cloud-based development and deployment
- Knowledge of software development best practices, including Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git).
